I've been looking for a ta22 for quite a while now but my mother ( i'm 16 ) wont let me buy one unless the body is in A1 condition. Close to perfect with the very slightest rust only. Does anyone have any contacts thru dealers or anything that could help me... Gah i just want a ta22 how much is that to ask... thanks in advance

yes there is
i picked mine up for $800....and it only had a few spots of rust
u will not find one without rust that hasnt had the body fixed up
so u just have to find one that has had all the rust taken out.....which also means theres a chance the owner has done a paintjob on it which means $$$

I picked up 1 yesterday for $800 which only had 1 bit large bit of just in the drivers side rear guard! This wont take much to fix at all!
Just tell your ol-lady that these old cars are tuff and if you hit something(within reason) it wont do much damage at all!

a bit off the beaten track but i got my GC galant(circa 76) for $1000 only a bit of surface rust, a tear in the rear seat, and in need of a service
good bargins are out there
look for the little old ladies who have "church drivers"....in other words a car they purchased in 1975 to go to church on a sunday and thats all the driving its done.

First 23 i jumped in to quick and kind of got ripped off too eger i guess. The second i waited it was stock but it had been owned by a hairdresser tiny bit of rust in the rear guard and the underneath was fairly straight some of the paint was orgional and the interior was origional which showed that it had been keeped under cover was $1400. Im to affraid to add up all the reciepts at the moment.

takahashi,
When most people say they have a 30 odd year old car with "NO" rust they are usually refering too two kinds of Rust.
1) The rust they don't think you will find.
or
2) The rust they didn't know they had !
If you can get a Complete Minimal Rust TA22 you are doing well. Personaly I would expect to pay around $1500 for a good project vehicle and $2000 plus for one that is complete and running.
Straight rust free TA22's are rare as now, most have had a rust repair or two and depending on how well they were done is how long till you find it

sure you can always find surface rust underneath quarter panels and such but that kind of rust is not important, it is easily fixed and you cant see it from the outside !
