Exhaust Advice Mon, 03 March 2003 00:50 Go to next message
Hi guys,

I'm after some advice - I've got a 90' model Soarer GT (7M-GTE) thats getting blue slipped at the moment. The mechanic's told me that my exhaust is stuffed and needs to be replaced from the cat back - i don't think this is viable as its a standard and quite restrictive exhaust system

Time to upgrade! Anybodys thoughts on pipe size, style, price, recommendation on a good place either in sydney or newcastle that i could get it done? I want the new system to be from the turbo back, don't want it to be increbily loud, wouldn't mind it increasing the kW's if possible Laughing

My othe requirement is that it costs me under a grand as i've nearly depleted my bank account getting the silly thing back on the road.

Thanks!

Dan

Simple: 3" all the way from the turbo to the tip, single muffler at the back, and a high-flow cat. A friend has this on his MA70, and he ran a 13.7 @ 103mph at Willowbank with no other mods (apart from a bleed valve set at 11psi). That's a pretty decent improvement over stock (mid-high 14).

The above setup is surprisingly quiet... turbo engines don't need much in the way of mufflers to keep them legal. The turbo and cat do most of the work, so you only need one muffler to finish the job!
