3TG turbo upgrade need other upgrades too?

Hey Guys'n gals. Does anyone know what alternative turbo may fit straight to the 3TG? I have done my turbo seal but dont want to put the same 1 back. Upgrade opportunity calls, but dont know much re turbo changes. Would I have to get an aftermarket computer and different injectors aswell to match? What is an inexpensive but better turbo to use for a 3TG. Would it be OK to get a second hand turbo and check the seal? Any hints greatly appreciated. Kach22 from SA with a TA22. TAA

I've heard of people using the CT26 as a good upgrade, from what i've heard its a bolt on apart from a couple of oil lines. The twin entry model off the mr2's need a new manifold made, but the single entrys are the bolt on. I'm just going on what i've heard but, you know my 3TGTE is sitting on the garage floor atm
This is probably the cheapest upgrade i can think of, then you start going into custom manifolds and big ni$$an motherf***ers .
EDIT: should really read what your asking before i reply hey. The 3TGTE computer should be able to handle more boost (<15psi), but then you run the risk of leaning out with the injectors. by upgrading the injectors you will have the same duty cycle but more flow, hence a much richer mixture over all RPM range, like i think simon mezz found out with his 400+cc/min injectors (the oxy sensor is too refined to selftune). Once you've upgraded turbo-->injectors-->computer your stock pistons may not be able to handle it. the cheap option would be to go with a high-flow CT20 or CT26, leave injectors, intercool, tune and not worry about custom manifolds or aftermarket injection. The powerful option would be something like 2L gemini hepatite pistons or forgies, aftermarket computer, W58 box, hilux diff, upgrade fuel lines, surge tank and garret turbos.

Yeah, at moment I think I may either have the car off the road or borrow your ct20 due to financial reasons. CT26 sounds good, looked at the differences at 4's N More recently. Thanks

sweet avatar yellow submarine !!
i can just see any decent turbo upgrade costing over a grand, and i know you'll have a few expenses comming up with the wedding. your very welcome to borrow my turbs so long as it only runs stock 8psi and you double check the oil and water lines are setup correct, oh yeah and i get it back when i sell my 3TG .
