TOYOTA NATIONALS ACCOMMODATION Mon, 03 March 2003 20:45 Go to next message
Hey guys, time is getting short for getting your accommodation for the Toyota Nationals. If you want to book it through the Toyota Nationals then you must get your entries in soon and certainly by the 15th. If you are organising it yourself then you need to do the same as accommodation books up very quickly at easter.

ill say YES!
but i think we should see how many toymods dudes want to go so we can perhaps get close-but rooms. Ill possibly email grant about it when i get to uni.

From memory ATM its just me, you (pete), gary, ben, and one or two other that said they are going.
I rekon if we all get our entries in then we should be fine.

Karl... I thought it would be more expensive than $75 in total... That is minus accomodation...

Maybe we could get a group of four and get a room with a Queen, Single and a Sofa??? That way it would be cheaper to split the room cost by 4... Good idea???

I MIGHT ENTER, let me think about it...

ill be completing my entry tomorrow - COMON EVERYONE!

I thought that the whole point of taking a GF was so it wouldn't get cold.

OK. Then lets book some accom next to each other so we can hear each other at night ... I mean wake each other up in the morning (by knocking on the door). So we can go to the 'Nats together.

that was my idea at first Peter - adjacent(ish) rooms so that we can wake each other up in the morning etc and go as a group.

Gary- i resent any rumpy-pumpy comments! Twisted Evil

Although it now seems that a lot of you want to camp it up. Ill talk to my gf and ask her what she wants to do.
Although remember guys - this is Dubbo, it will be mid-autumn, and it gets DAMN COLD at night. Speaking from experience sometimes not even a warm body can keep you warm and comfy!

I was speaking to Joe and he suggested the "Formula 1" motel... It's apparently smaller and not as good but it's half the price... I think this might be the way to go...

Anyone else interested in staying at the Formula One motel???

Hey Justin,

U sure your aunt wouldn't mind having a whole heaps of us up there with all the drought and that at the moment?
Might not have much water.

A powered site at a caravan park is around $15pp for 2 ppl per night (extra $4 or so per person).

The ones i've looked at have bbq's, pools, showers, etc.

It only costs $10 and it helps support YOUR nationals event ( not just Toymods all Toyota enthusiasts)

on my first year i won a best original trophy and wasnt going to enter!!! DAMN happy i did

If it goes better than stock ,then definatly enter the drags a tailshaft loop is something we all should have and at $55 they are cheap .there are heaps of catagories!

hell if its bog stock enter it anyway!!! its great fun and you can show off your traffic light skills

check out the webpage for details

OK, according to the Natiionals website, the cutoff date for accomodation at the Matilda has been extended 'till the 21st of March, so I'm getting a room there.
I'm gonna book an Executive Suite, which sleeps 3-4 people, at $25 to $33 per person per night, depending on the no. of people.
Hopefully I won't get stuck with the room all to myself.

So everyone else, STAY AT THE MATILDA, BUT GET YOUR ENTRY IN QUICKSMART!
I've just sent mine off express post.

OK - Joel and myself have just got ourselves into the MATILDA hotel! Along with us is Cam and Lara. This is the place that the nationals organisers have set aside for us.

repeating:
we are staying at the Matilda Hotel
I think as many toymodders as possible should stay there. Group up and get an executive suite! would make things CHEAPA CHEAP!!

EDIT: damn, too quick Joel!

Rang Amanda off the application form.

She said there was one exec 2 room appartment left, but I said that Joel had express posted his application today and I didn't want to take it from under him.

I've booked (via phone, have to fax up application form with photocopy of cheque tomorrow, then will snail-mail form & cheque) an Executive Unit. Which is a Queen, a Single, and a Sofa Bed.

The Single and Sofa Bed can be used by someone else (first-in-best-dressed).

Joel, She also took some of your details (Name: Joel, Car:Orange Celica) and has put it on the 2br one.

Um, I didn't even notice there were exec 2 room apartments, I was talking about the same one you described, Q, S & SB. Confused
The website & application form describe the same rooms as an exec suite & an exec unit, maybe this is where I put you off. So if you want the 2 room deal it's all yours, at least you know no one else will have taken it. Smile

So far the room I've booked will have me, Karl & the Stitt, so unless Karl or Luke wanna share a double bed with someone this room's full. Chances are the sofa bad is a double too, so we could fit 5 people in if we were desperate. That would bring the cost down to 20 bucks per person.
Fortunately, we're not that desperate. Very Happy But if anyone else needed cheap accom., that's an idea.

Last time we were there the Matilda had a hose and small area that would be suitable.

However there is a Car Lovers in Dubbo and most ventured there for a proper wash. This would be your best bet.

Hey Gary, I inquired about tailshaft loops at Auto 1 today, but they are only universal loops they can't give me measurements off, & will cost around $80 anyway, so the custom ones from queensland might be the go.
Unless anyone wants to get handy with a welder?

Nights booked:

Friday
Saturday
Sunday

cost for room was $133 a night.

Not sure about split. If we get 5 people in there then we can work it out to be $80 for the weekend each, which is pretty resonable.

Need that 5th person though.

Just a general comment about overloading rooms. The owner of the Matilda has advised that the rooms can only take the amount of people there are beds for. He won't allow extra matresses or air beds. It has to do with safety of guests if there is a fire.

All the rooms have now been given back to the Matilda. Anyone wanting accommodation will have to contact the Motel directly on 6882 3944 and ask for Wayne or Pat. There are still a number of standard rooms available plus the cabins but you need to book quickly.
