Hi all,

I've been observing with interest on these forums for a while now and you seem like a knowledgable bunch of people, sooo....

I've had my RA40 for a couple of years and it used to have trouble going into 2nd on cold mornings. We put some Transgear oil in it about 12+ months ago which helped beautifully. Then i had no problems until lately..

Now i've got the opposite problem, coming out of gear when the load comes off.

Is this just the signs of a shagged box, or is it possible to adjust selectors and the such?

The lever does feel quite strange for 2nd, it comes along way back then springs forward. Feels very different to the other gears. a lot of the time its fine and I have no problem, but it always gets ya when you dont expect it.

Anyways thanks

Chris

probably time to change the oil.

I am using castrol VMX 80 in my RA40 box and it has smoothed things out nicely. it is about $35 for 5 litres from auto barn and it is designed to run smoothly in cooler weather.
