1G-GTE power!!! Tue, 04 March 2003 22:26 Go to next message
Um just wondering what is the most anyone has screwed out of a 1G-GTE, List of mods to get this figure would be great. Just wondering, the 1G-GTE is a 2L engine, Why hasn't anyone gone to a say highflow T3?

Thanks

Tank,

People do Mod them but they are kinda fun to drive straight out of the box if you get the Series 3 version and wind the boost up.

Tina's got 142 KW atthe treads on 11.5PSI boost.

Phill I sbuilding a pretty wild 1GGTE which will be great to see next Dyno day. Best one I know of to date Belongs to Dennis Heller.

This is his email to me when I asked him how it was going. He won't mind me posting it here. He runs a company Called Heller engineering

Rod,
My 1G had 275hp at te wheels @15psi. I did boost to 30psi but never got a hp figure on it.

I'm half way through making a new intake manifold for it. I'm also going to put a smaller exhaust housing on it to reduce lag a bit. I also want to go to a water/air intercooler.

My 1G is stroked to 2.4l (HKS stroker crank and rods) TRD pistons,HKS cams,HKS stainles head gasket,T04 on custom twin entry manifold, race gate wastegate, TRUST 50mm BOV ,HKS Vernier cam gears, Koito tripple plate clutch, 12 injectors, over size throttle body(soon to be 110mm) , Haltech E6K and a heap more.

PS. 275 HP = 205 KW

205 kw Shocked Shocked Shocked

I am sorry but for what he has done to the engine i would be expecting something a bit higher. So are all those aftermarket parts still available these days?

ESTIMATED COST = $10,000 +

Consider:

1JZGTE with 3" system and factory auto has 274 at the wheels @16psi.

ESTIMATED COST = $2500

Which would you rather?

Is it just me or does that seem like a lot of money for that result? Sure, I'd much rather a 1JZGTE if it would cost $10k to get results like that, but in theory, what is stopping the 1GGTE from making power along the lines of an SR20DET from Nissan?

Its got the same capacity, a better head design, fairly strong internals..any thoughts?

ahhhhh, but 1JZ-GTE + TA22 = No Fit.

Maybe he should upgrade to a real car like a RA23 or RA28 Razz

I have a 1JZ-GTE in a RA28.......And have the Summernats Horsepower Hereos trophy to go with it Very Happy

Basically a 1J is the way to go if it fits.

Don't know what drugs Sixworks is on.... That Loser boy has a 1G in a RA23..... I've been trying for years to get him to make the upgrade... He is basically to scared of all that HP... HAHAHAHA.

Both wheels spinning at 100km/p/h is a wonderful thing....
