Many RA6x's converted to 1G-GTE... The only difference would be the crossmember..... That's an unknown for us AFAIK...

If you're doing it yourself, budget about $4k. $7-9k if you're gonna pay someone else.

FWIW I've compared an ST141 and RT142 crossmember (Corona) and there seemed to be no significant difference to the naked eye. This would suggest there's not much difference between a SA63 and RA6x crossmember, but I haven't compared them direcetly so I can't say for sure.

There seem to be no major differences between RT142 and ST141 crossmembers as Norbie said - however I would guess that the R vs S engine mounts might actually be considerably different. Another things is that the angle on the factory welded mounts on the crossmembers may be different - hard to tell by eye.

Well, you need to chop the factory mounts in order to fit a 1G anyway... Smile

isnit a sa63 basically just an ra65 with a 2s-c engine?

would the conversion be worth my time and money or should i just save up for a new car?

Okay
I have compared TT142 (with 3TGTEU), RA63 (with 18RGEU) and TA63 (with 3TGTEU). The Corona (TT142) and Carina (TA63) were identical, the only difference with the Celica (RA63) was the engine mounts, everything else (steering, struts etc) was identical.
Conversion should be the same as for an RA, just make new mounts for the motor to suit.

Callum
