Luke, you ever been to http://fuelwatch.com.au/
Very good site. Subscribe and you get an email sent to you every day with the best fuel prices.
Also, fill up on Sunday or Monday. Never fill up on Wednesday or Thursday.

or you could buy a corolla, which will get you close to 500kms out of a tank (40l) and not really worry about petrol prices..

or you could ditch the corrolla and get a charade 64Kw of fun in a car that is only 800Kg in weight and uses 7L/100K in the city or 5.4L/100K on the Highway.
thrashing my car non stop to the rev limiter all the time it only costs me $30 for 500-600km of driving a week
now thats value for money

The price of petrol is getting stupid now.
All you city boys should not winge too much.
I'm paying $1.16 for normal unleaded and add to that a bottle of octane boost and your looking at a fair bit over $100 to fill the tank.
Ouch!!
My car seems to be easy on petrol though. I get about 10L/100 and the car never sees under 160km/h for 99% of the driving. I get about 700-800k's out of a tank.
