Membership over the net with credit card???? Sat, 15 June 2002 07:18 Go to next message
Just asking the above question,
would that be possible cause i think you would get alot more people becoming members because they're too lazy to get the form, then a money order and then post it. Like me Surprised

I would have become a financial member 1 1/2 years ago otherwise.

Just a suggestion to increase the financial membership base.
Just fill in the form with your details and card no.

may not justify the cost and paperwork tho but certainly worth investigating

will bring it up at a board meeting

Exclamation Direct deposit is a good option !
We pay all our suppliers and other individuals by direct deposit. all we need is an account # and BSB Arrow
Cheers

Hi Darryl

For the moment Toymods can't accept direct deposits.

We are not a company and as such the board work individually and only meet once per month.

Direct Deposits would create additional paperwork and hassles tracking membership payments and processing.

It is a great idea though and something that we will be looking to do in the future.

Thank-you

unfortunately cheques need to made out to Toymods and deposited into our account.

our current procedures are in place to prevent lost memberships and hassles that we have had in the past when members have given forms and cheques to other members or to board members other than the membership secretary.

at this stage we need to stick to our set procedures to prevent a paperwork nightmare.

sorry for any hassles... at this stage its simplest to just post us a cheque or money order (or better still join up in person)

thanks

Just to help your credit card research for those people who use their credit cards on the net.

I imagine that the costs will out weigh the benefits (at least for a small size club like Toymods) as a credit card gateway is going to cost you at least 1200 dollars to set-up and an SSL cert or similar can range in price from 300 to 1200 dollars (yearly cost) depending on who you source it from etc as well as the servers and OS these forums run on.

Enjoy
