Bleed valve? Cheap and easy mod which will give you heaps of extra power.

heya... its cool to see another gt4 around
try and come down to one of our events or meetings to say hi
there are plenty of links re: gt4 modification which i can post up if you want
the basic modifications you should do are:
* 3" turbo back exhaust (including dump-pipe... does your exhaust have this?)
* boost gauge (quality one)
* some sort of boost controller (like max suggested)to up the boost
hope this helps

3s-gte's are pretty damn tough... go the bleed valve (or an in-dash controller if you're feeling a little more affluent)
a pod filter is always a good one, as long as you're not paranoid about getting defected about it (though with a 3" exhaust, that's more likely to cause you problems)
then of course you can get into front mount ICs ... and then it gets very expensive

Hey guys, sorry for the late response (been 'stupid' busy!). Thanx for the suggestions, they're great
Danny... i'll try to make the next event/meeting, it'd be great to meet a few people 'in the know'.
I'm just starting to try and learn about mods and the like, so all input is a great help! - I know... I picked a bloody hard car to do this with, but what can you say... I like to do things the hard way
Cheers...

the pod filter you mean?
they come in like a billion different sizes, and I'm positive there's room. it may also require a different air pipe thing, but I'm sure there are other people on the forum (like the ones with gt-fours) that could help you better.
just a hint... try putting "gt-four mods" in the topic... will grab the attention of the sort of people you want to talk to

oK - i JUST GOT MY GT4 YESTERDAY
HAPPY BOY I AM
I can vouch for the boost controller - its very very good to play with
the Exhaust upgrade is a MUST - and you can jumper the fuel voltage thing easily to get fuel delivered at 13.something volts instead of 12 - Good if you run the boost controller without a fuel cut defender - which costs a pretty penny ..
Suspension wise - id look at tweaking the rear end sway bar for definate - and then doing the whole swap to sportier springs / shocks later on ..
if your like me and drive on country roads - the stock suspensions nice - just goes nicely over the odd road bump , though if you have smooth roads - definantly go the next step !
power wise unless your insanely wealthy , the Gt4 is pretty nimble - IMHO - and quick !

the only negative things i've heard about this mod is higher fuel consumption and more wear on the fuel pump... just bear that in mind

blah Danny nobody's worried, mine consumes fuel its great! Once you get it tuned right with aftermarket comp it won't drink as much fuel, ive got an RX7 S6 pump going in mine on the weekend, Ill see how much richer it runs...
For a GT-Four id be investing in a front-mount cooler, or at least piping to front-mount your standard cooler, it makes the world of difference.
Im going to change my manifold this weekend too and see what diff that makes.
