Has anyone fitted these to a TA22? If so, how did you do it and where did you get the parts from?

my 74 TA22 has no retractables... however i have a set out of a 75 TA22 which i once owned as a parts car, gone now...
the 75 retracts mount on the floor as the 74 non rettacts do, however you need some way of swiveling the top. the 75's used a strap and slider that hangs from abover where the b-pillar should be... when i get around to converting mine, instead, i'll use swivel extensions of an Opel Calibra, as the will be long enough to come from behind where the current 74 non retracts come from... if you have the chance, look at a Calibra, and a 75 -> Ta22 and then you'll know instantly what i mean.
i hope this helps

i've been thinking more... those retracts i refer to on the later celicas are the same on the RA23's as well i think... and i also didn't really expalin why to use the calibra swivel that well.
the early TA22s like yours and mine don't have the mount in the roof where the later celica ones do where the belt loops back down. so to get around this, using the calibra belt loop means that the new retractable setup still uses all the original mounting points, this is because the calibra seatbelt loop is long enough to extend forward from back on the c-pillar where it's mounted.
using parts from other seatbelt setups hopefully keeps engineers happy as everything is bolted up, and there are no modifications made to any parts.
mmmmm, now i think i've expalined it a bit better, but it is difficult to describe... let me know if this makes sense or not.

Ahh, I wondered what those extra bolt holes were above the c pillar in my RA23 were. I wanted to lose the seatbelts original location, a it spoiled the celicas coupe look, hanging down just like a b pillar, so I sussed around & found the c pillar holes. Pulled out the little plugs that plug 'em up, and just swapped 'em round. Passengers always have trouble finding the belt when they get in, but I've got used to it!
There's not many genuine coupes out there (B pillarless) so I didn't want the seatbelts to spoil the look.

Joel, So you moved the belts from the B pillar point back to the C pillar point?

Dorikin, the calibra seatbelt loops do they hang from like a peice of belt? I've seen setups that have a peice of belt that is attached to the orignal mount point and on the end of that is the loop that the main belt goes through! I hope that makes sense!

I checked out my TA22 today and found that it does have the mount points for the belts where the B pillar should be!

the calibra ones are not hangering off a belt like the celica ones... they are self supporting rigid backed stems and the only reason i suggest them is cos they look mega neat.
