Does any one have a 3SGE set up coupled with a Supra 5spd??

If so, i'd be interested to find out what kinda flywheel you used and how you put it together??

I'm currently facing a bit of a pickel with mine.... i'd appreciate any advise!!

Cheers

Well you can either use a custom bellhousing and flywheel or use a shortened 2s bellhousing and the standard flywheel!

It depends what generation of 3SGE you have.

If its a gen1 you can just use the standard flywheel that came with it (assuming its a manual).

Anything later than that and you are going to have to get a custom flywheel made.

You'll most likely have to shave about 5-6mm from the bellhousing to get the input shaft to locate properly in the spigot bearing (which you will have to source separately too). There were a couple of articles available on the net that described some of the basics of making a 3SGE RWD, but I'm not sure if they are still around.

Leave me a message if you need more info.

I think the dude that put my car together used a custum bell housing and modified the sandwhich plate and chucked a gt4 group A rally flywheel! The only thing is that it engages from the wrong side and its chewing up my flywheel!!

It such a pain in the ass!!

Thanks for your help!!

I've got a TA23 celica that looks pretty standard, however the engine and gearbox and a few little odds and ends are modified.

I've been talking to Toyospares in Bayswater who've helped shed a bit of light on it for me, but thanks for the offer of taking a look at it for me!! Much appreciated!!

I might give you a buzz later on the is week if its cool!!
My celica's currently up on a hoist in Keysborough!!

Cheers
Owen

Both a friend and I have shaved the gearbox and encountered no problems with the clutch engaging or disengaging.

As for the gt4 flywheel, I had an alloy made made for someone and it was much bigger in diameter than what I needed for the RWD setup. You would have to turn a lot off it and then I'm not sure that there would be enough meat on there to hold the ring gear.
