Where is my oil going???

I've got a stock 18R-C in my Celica. Every 2 weeks I have to fill up the oil and I don't mean top it up I mean that it's not even reading on the dip stick.
My engine doesn't blow any blue smoke (only occasionally when it backfires of a morning) and it doesn't leak because I can park it on the paving at home for 24 hours and there are no drips.
How is my engine using so much oil?

There are only two possibilities here: either your oil is leaking somewhere, or it's getting burned away. You claim there's no sign of leaking on your driveway, so it must be getting burned inside the engine.
How do you know your car isn't blowing smoke? A lack of smoke while it's idling in your driveway doesn't necessarily mean anything; it's not uncommon for an engine to only blow smoke when it's revving and/or under load, and if you're in the drivers seat at the time you usually can't see it!

Dad followed me quite a few times, we leave for work at similar times and come home at similar times and he's never seen any smoke. I live in the hills so my car is regulary under load.

you can use thicker engine oil maybe penrite 20/60 or possibly higher this will slow oil consuption but wont fix the problem.more than likely your engine needs piston rings have somebody visually check the engine for blowby ? its probably best to check your oil everyday on lavel ground and keep a log of how much it uses after you change to a thicker oil this will help determine the action needed

cool, I'll try that oil. I do use a shell one for older engines but I don't know how good it is. I don't like buying expensive oil if it doesn't last.

were you using the shell sports? 25w70 i think it is
that slowed consumption in my celica
but really, it can only be leaking or burning. maybe try parking it on a couple of different angles, see if it leaks out one side.
otherwise it's burning
unless you've got an oil gremlin sitting in your sump... but they're hard to kill without frying your engine
