I don't think I need much done, she runs pretty well. I live in Sydney, in the Hills District.

i've got a mk2 supra and i've been taking my supra to the local Ultra Tune here. Every time i go in for a service i can feel the difference in my car that they have retuned it... in a good way.

If you have them there then give them a go. These guys know my car now and i get awesome deals through them just because i keep going back.

Thanks Smile

One thing I forgot to mention was that it is the Twin Turbo variety of Mark IV Supra... may make a difference.

Why not do it yourself? Anyone who's smart enough to use a computer is smart enough to service a car. There's not much to be done on modern cars, it's usually just an oil change and check the plugs... kid's stuff really.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! *runs away terrified*

Famous last words my friend. From what I gather, this is the first time you've had your Mk4 serviced since you purchased it? Just because it's a modern car that runs well doesn't mean it doesn't need regular servicing. You really need spark plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter, and a general checkup every 10,000kms and probably every 5,000km in the middle I'd be checking the oil level, changing the oil filter and checking the condition of the spark plugs as well.

A car that runs well is a trap for young players! Smile

lol Smile

Yes, it is the first time I'll be taking it in for a service - it just rolled over 80k which means it's due for a 10,000km service. I don't know anything about doing that kind of thing myself, and I'd be much happier knowing a professional was taking care of it and was able to recognise more serious problems.

I think the gearbox may be a little iffy, it spits me out of first gear on occasion - although it could be my girly arms aren't putting it fully into gear before letting the clutch out. Still, it's a little stiff - needs an oil change?

Hmmm Confused

lol, I hear you Smile The experience I had with my 300ZX (before I put it into a tree Rolling) has taught me that these professionals are a rare breed.

Which is why I'm asking you guys for your recommendations...

Toyota Mechanics... not too hard to find.. they will specialise..

otherwise find something like C-Red.. sports tuning garages.. there have to be some around you, they are probably the best bet...

Peace
Katsu

I dunno, I've had an iffy run in or 2 with toyota mechanics.

for anyone who knew my old ra65 celica... they told me that the oil it was using was no problem.
despite the fact that it went from "F" to "L" in under 2 weeks

if it's general stuff like that, just take it to advan or something... no need for a toyota specialist unless something specially toyota is screwed
I'll even offer to drive you if you like
or teach you how to change your oil, which sounds even better

I sortof have the same problems sometimes ashling. My gearbox is still feeling a bit stiff and I'm still getting used to it. Going from a van to a TT Supra was a helluva change for me. Surprised
