Ive been told Penrith and Botany RTA do emission testing.

Free?
Need to book in?
Tried to look up procedures on RTA website to litle avail.
Whats the test called officially? (im240?)

I drive a 4agze.
-What RPM do they do the testing?
-do they do dB noise level too?
-is it in my best interest to turn off the supercharger? or will this just richen my fuel mixture to the max?
-if i fail it, do they defect you?

Worried..

Look in that other post by ladysx, I Wrote something there. I think your best bet is to talk to my bro and ask him what to do, cause he had to go through it all.

Can I ask why you have to get the test done? Is it for an engineering report or to clear a defect notice?

Cheers

Its for his engineers cert, they test the car at varying loads and speeds along a set course (on a dyno)and have to follow the program.

No they don't care if you fail or not, as the engineer will determine that in regards to age of vehicle. ANor do they defect you, its just a simple emission test for hydrocarbon levels, oxides of nitrogen level, carbon dioxide levels, and carbon monoxide.
