Hi there, just wondering, what are people getting in the way of 0-100's with 3t-gteu? /turbo(ct20)/boost(7 pound). As you may have seen there were earlier posts my engine performing quite nastily..finally fixed the problem, replaced the knock computer and ecu, and my 0-100(with just me) went from 12secs to 9.7secs(3 people in the car).. i suspect the knock computer was over reacting, and retarding the timing way too far.
So thats 9.7secs with 3 people in the car.. stock 7psi of boost(no BOV), and i changed at about 4500-5000rpm in 1st, 5500 in 2nd, then into 3rd, i was at about 80k in 2nd, changed to 3rd.. so i probebly could have shaved another second off that by staying in second, and ringing out first a little more.. also a delay getting into 2nd(crunch!)
So yeah.. just wanted to see if mines performing how it should now...Certinally feels a shit load faster when its just me.. I have before pulled a 7.5sec with 2 people back in the day when it was running properly(stock boost too).. in respect to a 0-100 .. what would setting the boost from say, the stock 7psi to 12psi shave off?, another a second atleast? also installing a bov within the next few days hopefully.. 1psi = 5hp at the fly? ..
At what point is fuel/boost cut on a standard 3t-gteu ecu? If i used a restricter valve instead of bleed(restricter valves are dangerous because if they get blocked it will go way past 7psi , but easier and you still get the low down boost) and it did become blocked and did go way past say 14psi, would the boost cut nab it? or is boost cut lower than 12psi? im hearing its around 10psi
What will running standard oil(not designed for turbo charged cars) do to it?

Hey there dood,
Adrian from Adelaide with 3TGTEU. Recently made up an intercooler, BOV, boost controller onto stock 3TGTEU. I have never seen what mine did to 100km/hr. I have always looked at kw on the Dyno and never really thought to try it out. I will give it a did once it is back on the road, have done my ct20 turbs at last Nationals drags. Looking to put a CT20 turbs on it, just seeing how easy it will be and other options, breathers, catch cans etc while I'm at it. Running about 12 pound and off boost controller I'll let you know what she does. I do know that my engine ran to kW specs when I had it Dyno'd a year or so ago. Pulls 86Kw at rear wheels, which is to engine standard by book. With a few more runs since and the cooler installed I have no idea what she pulls, but I do know she felt pretty quick with no exhaust at mid 14sec runs. Maybe get yours Dyno'd and see what ur gettn. Stay in touch
Adrian

in terms of real world performance, did the intercooler do a hell of a lot? i have a rx7 intercooler ready to go in, just need to do the piping.

Yea, but very hard to tell without Dyno and a few changes at once. I do believe even on 7pound it pulled harder, but as soon as I went to 12 it jumped a fair bit.
