16" ROH ZS Rims & Tyres Mon, 24 March 2003 03:18 Go to next message
I'm selling my beloved ROH ZS Rims which I had custom made from ROH Australia and took 8 weeks to deliver Sad
They're pretty much brand new and have travelled under 1000 Kms since I bought them new in 1999. Insurance will not cover me (or you maybe) if you're under 25 for these cuz of the cost involved.
They're 16" X 7" ROH ZS Rims X 4, in new Dunlop FM901 directional tyres. They'll suit most 4 stud rear drive toyota's I'd think and were for my 1983 Celica which i'm now selling also. These rims were $2445 retail with tyres and I'm selling them for $1650 if anyone is interested.
I was going to put them on my MA61 supra but i'm still not 25 yet and I like the MA61 rims, so I'll probably get them polished or some deep dish jap rims some day.
Attached a pic of wot style they are and I think I got a pic of them on my ride when I had them rollin at the 2001 All Toyota Day in Qld.
I'm in QLD:

I believe they're the same as the 14X7 MA61 supra rims, which are + 8mm offset.

Oh wow, 16x7 with +8 offset... I wonder if they'd fit under the guards of a Rolla. I was originally looking for +15 to +20, I'll have to see how big my flares are (haven't gotten them yet) before I know if +8 will fit.

Or maybe I can try them on and see if they fit Smile What size tyres are they? I suspect they'd be too big for me to use anyway...

dno if they'd fit on the rolla.. my mate had a 77' rolla we were gonna try to get him past a road worthy, but it didn't eventuate. Would be good to know, depends on your flares i guess..
Wouldn't +15 or +20 make the wheels stick out even more?
ANd front wheel drive offsets are usually like -40 and -44 cuz most of the rims is in the wheel well and the rest is snug up against the hub.?? i may be wrong on this. yeah man no worries you can try on the rims Smile

The tyres I got are 205/45, not too fat as I had to fit them under the front of my celica (just). But yeah let me know if you wanna try one of em it won't be a prob Smile

Hmm, I think you're going by a different convention to me. The way I count it most FWD cars are about +35 to +40, and +15 to +20 will stick out less than +8.

Hmm... I need to find out how big my flares are... Or maybe I measured my rims wrong and I really need +8 Smile

steeko------>

Why cant you get insurance on your MA61 with these 16 X 7 rims ???

I have 18 X 8 on my MA70 and got insurance straight away from NRMA. Just Cars also said they would insure me too.

I am only 23.

Demuire, maybe you're right man, it's been a while since i educated myself on offsets, so you're probably right. I woz selling some 17X7 american racing rims which had a 44mm offset, so musta been +44.. so my +8mm won't stick out that much, but would on a FWD car..
If you got time one weekend, feel free to cruise by and try em on.

Supra Man - yeah man - i got no priors of any kind (speeding etc), no claims.
I went to almost every insurance company in Australia I reckon.. LOL.. Cuz the rims are special order they simply say hell no.. not for an 83 celica or an 84 Supra Sad
My favorite woz JustCars Car Insurance who wanted $2500 for my celica per year, with a $2000 excess.. insured to the value of $5000.. LOL
Everywhere I went to get my car insured with the 16X7 rims said they wouldn't touch it if I had those rims on.. I guess with the car worth $5000, the rims are worth half that already, so to replace them would be a dint in their pocket which they didn't wanna wear. I tried suncorp, aami, nrma, allans, just cars.. etc etc etc.. u name it i've asked em'..
All up I've spent over 10Gz on the celica after I bought it and they'd only insure it for $5000 max. Feels like a huge waste of money now Sad

not a waste of money if you have fun with it. when you think of what other cars cost to buy and maintain its a good car. haha i have two cars were the money spent on the engine is double what the whole car is worth. insurance has always made me laugh, isnt insurance the same as when a bookie takes a bet? well bookies dont rip you of as bad and pay the correct amout. must be that bookies dont donate hundreds of thousands of dollars to politions as the insurance company does!
mate have fun with it and be very careful were you park it and be doubley so when driving it. just get thrid party that covers you for hitting someone else etc. if your very careful, you will have the car for years and the money for insurance will maintain it totally.

true..I've done as you said and just put 3rd party fire/theft on it for the last few years and am very very an@l of parking it anywhere for too long Smile
btw, the wheels offset is 17.5mm,
I woz wrong, when I bought em they said they'd be exactly the same as the 14X7 MA61 supra rims,, but they weren't.
Thanks Clinton for showin' me how to measure the offset Smile
So a 17.5mm offset is getting more into FWD territory right?
almost i guess.
Looking for anyone with a sprinter in Bris so I can try these wheels on to make sure they won't rub the strut leg.
peace -

Oh wow 17.5mm offset that sounds almost perfect!!! (what I measured *roughly* was 20mm offset).

17.5mm offset is quite RWD, I've got a set of 16x7's at home off my GSR (FWD offset) and they are +40mm.

I'll have to try these rims on sometime. Maybe this weekend? Maybe. How do I get in touch with you?

*counts money*

*edit* Hmm I should also probably check with my insurance company first hey...

Hi Demuire..

Well I've had a few phone calls from Clinton in Perth and he's got first dibs on em'.. sorry mate..
But it's subject if it'll fit his cars.. He has an AE86 and an RA28 celica and I have to make sure they fit before he buys them in case they rub the strut legs. Something maybe also to think about ??
My contact details are in my first post.. but here they are again:

But yeah I need to check with an old sprinter or celica first dude..
peace

Hey Steeko,

Hmm, oh well. Well I know from trying a few different rims on my car that if it fits on my car it will definately fit on an AE86 (KE55 has less clearance inside and outside).
