i belive the rev limit standard is about 7400.
A good tune can never hurt, but its good to get the the source of the problem first!
Try swaping the computer with another standard one if you can.
Craig.

Stock rev-limit is around 8250 if the engine is wired correctly... you need the purple wire with white stripe on the 12 pin plug of the ECU connected to a speed sensor output from the dash cluster in order for it to cut at the correct limit.

I have just last week bought an AE92 CSi Hatch that has had a 20v conversion.
The dash in the car is (I'm assuming here) the CSi dash (gauges), small fuel gauge on left, 180 KPH speedo, tacho which reads to 8000 but redline is marked at 6000 (IIRC) and on the right a non functioning temp gauge .
I have noticed that the rev limiter cuts in at around 7500 and a search here on toymods has revealed that there is a wire on the ecu that needs to be connected to the speed output on the cluster. Do the standard CSi gauges have this output? where would I find it? If they don't whats the solution, find some 20V guages?
Thanks in advance,
Julian

Is it a CSi? or a CSi Limited? Because CSi's didn't have stock tacho's. Does your cluster have an EFI engine light? If it does it should have the purple wire speed sensor wire.

Yes it is a CSi limited.
Thanks for the info.
It never ceases to amaze me just how useful these forums are....how on earth did things get done before the internet??
Cheers Julian.

Hmmm, actually a CS limited, no "i", car was born with a 4AC.
No purple wire to the dash cluster. Is there a different wire to look for or do I have to do whats shown in eviljacks post?

the 4 pulse per revolution output is there, fuck its even there on an AE71!
open up the cluster and look for a spot on the PCB labelled "4P"
thats what you want connected to the SPD pin on your ECU. problem solved.

Had the opportunity to take out the gauges today.
On the back of my gauges there is a flexible plastic PCB(?) that has barely anything marked on it. The first and last pin for each of the three plug sockets is marked but thats about it.
Where do I find the 4P??
BTW. There is a fourth plug off the gauges loom that goes to nothing (at present) and I can't see what that would plug into.
Is it for the extra gauges of an SX dash?
Cheers,
Julian.

no response to the location of the 4P point?
I found out today what the forth plug in my dash loom was when refitting the plastic centre console trim.....rear window wiper and demister switch
Oops,
Julian
