APRIL 19th 2003: Car Rally/Treasure Hunt/BBQ/Easter Egg Hunt

Hi Toymodders,
For those Toymods members not going to Dubbo, Toymods will be hosting an Easter Car Rally/ Treasure Hunt. Each entrant will be expected to follow clues to end up in a final destination. Along the way entrants will be required to collect treasures which will earn them extra bonus points.
Following the Treasure Hunt at our final destination Toymods will be cooking a BBQ lunch for all participants.
This will be followed by an Easter Egg Hunt and final presentation to the winners of the car rally.
There are heaps of prizes to be won plus it is a great day out for the club and any friends and family.
But remember it is not about who arrives in the quickest time, it is about attention to detail, scoring the most bonus points and up to a spare $5 in change is neccessary to complete the task. (Please be mindful this is not a race - all participants are expected to follow all road rules and penalties will be inflicted if people break the law!!!!!)
The event is open for all Toymods Members, friends and family.
Tip: Entrants should try to team up with a navigator- it will make your job easier.
No Board Members can team up with other Board Members. Toymodders, this is a chance to get to know your Board.
COST:
$10 pp for members
$15 pp for non-members
Naviagators/Girlfriends not Toymods members $12
Includes; entry fee, lunch and easter egg hunt.
The Treasure Hunt will begin:
Date: Easter Saturday 19 April, 2003
Starting time: 9.00am
Location: Toymods Genreal Meeting Venue- Hills Alliance Church,
Windsor Rd Baulkham Hills (Opposite Hospital)
Expected running time: 2 - 3 hours
What you will need on the day:
Car (the obvious)
At least half a tank of fuel
Street Directory
Pens
and up to $5 in spare change
Hat and Sunscreen 
Members should register their interest for the rally in this thread(for catering requirements). If there are any additions please contact David at dlmw@optushome.com.au up until Good Friday.

dubbo isn't too far to go... instead of running an event against another, why not push those feeling a little on the "too far to drive" side to actually do it. Cause once u've done it once, you will never wanna miss out again.
Jeez, since when was 400km's a long drive??

Its just in the past, if u can't make a cruise, its a big fat nothing for your efforts 
Otherwise, for example, on sat morning i could have organised a cruise for those not wanting to go 300+km's. Know what i mean??
Either way i think its a good idea being easter weekend that as many people can hang with as many people as possible, but DUBBO DUBBO DUBBO.. dave.. r u not coming???

Guys,
This will be a great event for the people who do not wish to travel to dubbo or maybe cannot afford the expense for the weekend. This will be heaps of fun and a great relaxing day and a chance to catch up with some of the club members.
As stated this is simply an alternative to the Toyota Nationals.
It is your choice what you do. I am sure they will both be great.
Rodney and I will be in Sydney for the Treasure Hunt, I have to be considering I will be an Official on the day and then we will be travelling up to Dubbo bright and early on the Sunday to Catch up with everyone at the Nationals.

Anyone who was intending to go to the Nationals will already be going Entries for it Closed last Friday !
Secondly Whilst Toymods Supports the nationals commitee where possible and hopes its a huge success it isn't our event. The treausre hunt is for those people who for whatever reason cannot make it to Dubbo. Not every one can make it or wants to go to the Nationals.
We have a Toymods event EVERY month this is Aprils !
And as for organising a Cruise on Saturday morning you know that we don't allow anything to be posted in opposition of a Toymods Event as a General Rule !

I guess he's got a point there... It's double the distance (or close enough to it) from Sydney to Ballina where I used to live...
Because I'm not working full-time yet, I won't be able to afford the trip or the fuel.

Just wanted to say THANKX to everyone involved for a great event!! Didn't know what to expect (being my first event), but it was great... very well organised. Directions/clues were very well thought out (hats off to Dave!)
Should definitly hold another one later on when more people can make it!? And in an unfamiliar area to everyone!?? (may prove to be a big task)
