All going well, I should be a member by then, but I don't know if I'll be able to make it on a weeknight (I do afternoon shifts at the moment). If it were on a weekend, I'd be in it for sure.

Theres an all night truck station/weigh bridge a few doors down from garret. I weighed my car last night (1580kgs - fat b1tch). It was less than $20 for an RTA approved weigh in (for engineer certificate purposes) or $11 if you just want to know how much it weighs.
Could do a group weigh in after the tour. Although there are some hefty speed humps there that I think I damaged my undercarriage on last night  Really not happy about that  .

If I remember the original weight of the Toyota Supra 1991 model, it was around 3450 lbs. which is around 1568 kgs. It's not that much fatter than stock, but I can't believe my RAV4 weighs less (by about 240 kgs.)

Last minute warning for those guys going tonight (most of you have probably missed this already, but still, it doesn't hurt to help)..
BE CAREFUL OF THE GRAVEL / POT-HOLES ON GOVERNOR MACQUARIE DRIVE!!!!
Especially the really big one just after the bridge gonig over the river. It's almost a foot deep i reckon, and if you're not careful you could hit it with your front left wheel.. Keep towards the centre of the road when you're going over the bridge.. (if coming from the Warwick Farm end)

What a great night... lots of turbos and plenty of valuable information from the guys at Garrett.
To those who couldn't make it, you really missed out 
Many of us now have "souvenirs" including huuuuge turbo housings, impeller wheels, and someone even scored a massive truck intercooler !

HKSPete, I asked them your question. They recommended against a single turbo solution. Twins are a much better alternative for achieving the power levels you are aiming for. They said that if you wanted a single to put out 1000HP worth, you basically couldn't drive the car under 8,000rpm.

Glad you guys had fun. My brother Rob gave me a rundown last night, when he gave me a gift of a small impellor wheel.
I brought it to work so I can leave it on my desk as a trinket (I don't have any other trinkets, but everyone else does, troll dolls, photos etc.). I showed one of the guys that is "into cars", he has lots of photos of Porsches and Ferraris and is really good at the game "Name that Beemer!" he looked at it and promptly asked what it was. 
Pity no one at work understands performance cars.

Big thanks go to dave for organising it all, although he was the lucky bastard to score the lucky door prize, a really nice Garrett watch! Good on you dave!
I had a real nice drive home too, & luckily had juzzo in shotgun to enjoy the fun as I found myself cruising with some of europes finest, a real nice looking audi sports wagon (could have been one of those twin turbs V6 jobbies, an S6?) and an E55 AMG merc.
Instead of putting it up here it might even get it's own spot in the war stories &track talk section....
