I have been told a 1jz-gte measures approx 850mm long and height/width 700mm, and has a weight of 150kg? Could any one confirm this for me.

Thanks

These measurments were given to me by Adelaide Jap Imports and the weight was including the box. I'm hopping that the length is a bit boggie because my engine bay is approx 850mm long to the front of the radiator, no chance of a 1jz fitting into my Ra28.

Around 730 mm long...back of block to front of water pump for a 2JZGE.
I wouldn't believe that weight for a second....bare engine weighs at least as much as an M, which is around 180-200kg, and then add gearbox ~ around 35-45 kg depending which one.

The 850mm is the distance you need between firewall and radiator to install a 1JZ,either with a thinner fan,or with electric fans.

Thanks a lot for all the information, but I still think size is a problem. I have 760mm from firewall to Face of current (standard) radiator. I have 820mm, fire wall to front of engine bay, If I remove the middle section (where the radiator bolts to) of the front of the bay and replaced it with something custom I could get 850-870? Then fitting a radiator in, thermo fans would reduce this to at least 820. This would also mean that the radator being so far up the front of the car- Not much room for a decent intercooler. Have I got this all wrong? Cry Cry Cry
