Hey,
How much would it cost to fit a trueno front end (lights that pop up ) including the price of gaining the front. And is it really worth it?

Driftking,
If you were going to the extent of importing and fitting a Trueno front i would just look at importing the whole car. It would be much cheaper in the long run to spend $7000 buying and importing one than to buy a Sprinter, 4AGE, Levin front end - getting a respray, Levin LSD diff (you might as well do the whole conversion as the Oz diff sucks nuts!). The Levin also comes with electric windows, better seats, better interior etc. If you own a Sprinter perhaps look at selling it and rolling your cash to buying a Levin. I know a guy who privately imported his from NZ for around that price but he lives in Brisbane so it might be dearer depending on where you are.
Good luck with it.

i think there was a trueno front conversion kit for sale by Toby Hunt? going for $1500 .. That's just for the parts.
I got mine with my car. And it's great! But I guess it's how much the trueno has a sentimental value? or wateva and how much you like it. For that much money you could get a lot more other stuff, but it can be a matter of taste.
Personally, if my car didn't come with a trueno front, I dont think i'd be able to spend that much on that.

Some Dick named _WHY_ reckons and told me that buying a oz spec sprinter and getting it trueno'ed are more cheaper rather than getting and importing a JDM Trueno... man i would like to waste that guy...

Japanese Motorsport have a Trueno frontcut (less engine) for $1500. Looks a bit rough but nothing a panel beater couldn't clean up.
They also said it is all bolt together with no cutting/welding required.
I understand some wiring changes need to be made though for the headlights etc.
If I had a spare $1500 lying around I reckon i'd buy it for my Aus spec AE86. Make it different to all the other ones getting around Australia
Cheers

Hmm well my few senseless cents say that to get an Aus-spec Sprinter and make it LOOK like a trueno would be cheaper than importing a JDM. say around $3000 for car and as stated $1500 for front cut... and importing one is about $8000 to $10000 isnt it???
But with all the extra goodies like LSD etc on the JDM, and fact that it is an authentic trueno..... spending that few extra grands and importing one makes more sense.

Yeah in terms of cost effectiveness I reckon a JDM is the way to go.
But, if you already own a AE86, and happy with it.. Plus if it has already got a 4age.. Then might be worth while changing the front end over if thats what appeals to you

You lucky buggers. We get bummed with trueno front everywhere!
Dont get me wrong, I like both, but most throw trueno fronts away & pay moonbeams for Levin setups...

coupes look better as levins
hatches look better as trueno's
in my own personal opinion that is
also my JDMtrueno is costing 12k onroad
and its a nice straight rust free modified one, not a rustbucket guardrail-banger....
