can anyone recommend a good set of tyres (19" rims, 265 for the rears) that have good performance in the wet and not much road noise? my current tyres are really really noisy above 80kms.

not looking to spend too much - where should i be looking?

Not sure if they come in your rim size, but I have been quite happy with Falken Ziex tyres. Other than that I have heard that Kumho Ecsta 712s are very good.

Cheers

Kumho ECSTA 712s are used by many of us in the ALSC - great performance wet or dry on a heavy car and good value for money.

Uniroyal RTT2, great in the wet (they call them the rain tyre!) and 80,000 from my last set, mine were a smaller tyre though.

thanks guys - my back left tyre destroyed itself yesterday (normal road use... not happy) with plenty of tread to go on both sides.

i'm still unsure if i should replace both of them with a quieter tyre or if i should try and save some money and match my perfectly good remaining tyre... i hear there are some places around which sell pretty decent second hand tyres.
