Check out my site if you want more info on 3T GTE's. Everything you need to know is there.

There are 3 pressure switches. One is fuel enrichment, one fuel cut and one is for the knock control.
The switches are normally open. So with them both not earthed it is saying that there is an overboost situation as well as a need for a richer mix. This is why the fuel stops.
If you have fuel enrichment only the engine wil keep running just like if you only have fuel cut it will keep running.
Basically you can't have fuel cut (set to about 7.5 psi) without fuel enrichment because its set to about 2 psi.

Hope this helps,
Simon

Been tinkering with the pressure switchs only to find that they are normally closed..But yet, everywhere on the net says they are normally open, how can this be? without grounding the PE and PC connecter your engine wont run, if they were normally open they wouldnt be grounded untill you exceeded the pressure switchs limit, and it tripped. So therefor they are indeed normally closed(so that they are grounded UNTIL you trip them). Can anyone shed light on this topic? as far as i can see they are deffinatly normally closed, 3 sites, including simons that say they are normally open.. but its just not possible.

OK, let me clarify this one.

Like I said before "with them both not earthed it is saying that there is an overboost situation as well as a need for a richer mix. This is why the fuel stops.
If you have fuel enrichment only the engine wil keep running just like if you only have fuel cut it will keep running."

BUT, not all the switches are normally open. The diagram is wrong.
The knock control switch is normally open and earthes out when there is vacuum more than around 0.25psi.

Both PE and PC are normally closed. They cut the earth when its overboost. 2.2psi for PE and around 7.5psi for fuel cut.
So earthing these out is what you need under normal conditions. It took me a while to work all this out a while back. The diagram is a bit misleading with these switches, other than that its spot on.
This is why you will here about people that can't get their 3T GTE's running. Its usually because PE and PC are either NOT earthed out or the switches are staying open due to some fault.

Hope this helps,
Simon

where can i get some of these pressure switches?
not necessary for Pc and Pe? ...just need a real low psi N/O switch for the knock control?

You have to call around your local auto places, you should be able to buy aftermarket pressure switches locally.
Yep, the knock control is N/O. It has a very low psi setting because you don't need it to work under vacuum conditions or no boost.
Pc is a waste of time and in my opinion Toyota stuffed up on this one. Just earth it out and forget about it. The last think you want is fuel cut under boost anyway...
Pe is good to have as it gives you more fuel when under boost. I think its about 5 or 10% more when its above around 2 psi. Earthing it out means it is also going to run richer instead of just under boost.

Good luck,
Simon
