Hi, i am about to buy a Corolla SR5 89, it got a 4AF motor and i was wondering which motor could fit without too much trouble in it? If any1 got suggestion or tips to propose, they're welcome Thx!

Pretty well any a series engine (as they all came in FWD)!
4A-GE, 4A-GZE!!, or 4A-GE 20 valve will all fit in! (if you don't now about these motors do a search!)
Best thing to do would be to get a frount cut and you will prbly be able to do and easy swap of what you wan't.

are you guys nuts recommending a GZE for this car?? That Sr5 gearbox is "snapsville" with a GZE.. to much torque.. Go the 4age if you want the driveline to last.. seriously.. i looked into putting a GZE into one of these for a bash machine.. After some serious searching i read from various sources that a GE is about all she hold up to.. Dont get me wrong.. Itll still go really well.. But if your planning a WRX chomper.. It aint gonna happen..

that's why you get a half-cut with gearbox

Yeah put the LSD box you get with the half cut in!
Get a half cut and go nut and change almost everthing (do the AE's have bigger brakes?)

If I'm not mistaken (could be, happens a lot...), the SR5 is the 4WD Corolla? In which case Corvid is right on the money, the gearbox probably won't handle the 4AGZE... and swapping the gearbox/lsd from the half-cut won't help, unless you can find a 4WD 4AGZE......
In short, 4AGE.

in canada a SR5 is not necessarily the 4wd version,
sr5 were like the base model corolla's and GTS is the twin cam ones, so the half cut option might work for him if he can get one there...
