MZ20/MA7x Auto Trans q's

Its about time I had changed my auto oil, I'm no expert on this, but as far as I'm aware, its just like changing engine oil. Drain the old, and fill the new thru the dipstick.
Question One:
What type of oil shall I be purchasing for it?
Question Two:
How much oil should fir in the box?
Question Three:
Am I correct in my assumption of changing it? Drain it, and just fill new stuff?
Question Four:
I haven't actually looked for the drain plug on the Auto, where roughly is it?
Anything else I should know?

You need to pull the pan off the bottom of your gearbox, from memory about 18-20 nuts and it pops straight off.
you need to use a litte care when removing it so as no to damage/bend the dipstick shaft.
you'll also want to change the filter while your doing this, as its pretty much a wase of time chainging fluid otherwise.
and then as you said above, fill it up through the dipstick shaft carefully with a funnel, you spill here & its gona smell reeeeaaal nasty (I know from past experience)
PS I use Penrite oil's fluids, but any goo dextron II fluid will do you fine

Ok, didn't realise there was a filter in the auto trans.
Does anyone know what filter it is to get? Just a Ryco one or something?
What is the model of these autos.
Its a 7MGTE too by the way

Your box should be an A340 of some description
most likely an A340E (30-40SE)
but you'll be able to fid the code on the side of it
should be a problem cross matching the filter with on of the catalogues provided
