Which import wreckers usually have a JZA70 half cut? How much?

After an expensive last few months, and a few bills I've yet to pay - I'm going to start saving money for a half cut + conversion.
Just after a few places that *usually* have a JZA70 half cut lying around and regularly bring them in and prices for them.
I've seen a few people say they can get them for $2500 and stuff...so where do they have these $2500 half cuts??
I'm after an auto one too (Costs less). I'm also in Melb and I'll buy from QLD, NSW, SA ... WA is too far and they tend to have high prices anyways.
After being screwed around by a wrecker - I'd like some names of reliable ones who aren't dodgey. I think that's why I've held off the conversion...
I know there is a search button, but I need updated info.
Thanks.

The days of $2500 1JZ manual front cuts are long gone. A friend of mine bought one recently, and the best price he could find was $3500. Most wreckers wanted $4k and up. I won't give you the name of the place he got it from though because they sold him a dud and refuse to refund his money... bastards.

Maybe of you can find a good JZX81 cut. Try Andrew at Toyshop Auto Imports in Newcastle (02 4953 7277); they recently brought in two JZX81's and also have a JZX90.

Jap Parts in Adelaide
http://www.jap-parts.com.au
Got the cut with a stuffed turbo, that was replaced under warrenty. Took the car out with the new turbo on and as soon at it hit boost it started knocking in the head. Intake plenium was hot to the touch. I suspect burnt valves, compression on the first two cylinders was ~70psi number 3 was 135 and the rest 180.

$3500 + Shipping.
No haven't yet.. The EPC doesn't list the duct version on there, looks like I'm going to have to go in and talk to the parts guys.

I was considering a 1JZGTE implant for my MA61 last year, and Andrew at the TOYSHOP in Newcastle quoted me $2,500 for engine, auto box and factory computer. He also chats to you and answers any questions you might have, and seemed to be really helpful.

I can strongly recommend Rolin Automotive Imports on the Gold Coast.
I recently bought a 1GGTE half cut, put a friend onto them that bought a 6sp 2JZ half cut, and another friend onto them that bought an auto 2JZ half cut. I have also purchased minor items (gearbox, etc) from them before.. yet to be disappointed.
When you've got the money give them a ring.. prices change regularly and really depend on what kind of supply line they have overseas. Don't bother them until you're serious

I can not reccomend Rolin Automotive enough.
www.japparts.com.au ( Note, NO HYPHEN)-
One thing I found was that most wreckers couldn't really give an airbourne fornication (flying f*ck for the english challenged) about helping you out if they didn't already have it in stock. I was reccommended to Rolin by a Mate who bought from them - and when I called, they understood I was ready to spend my money as soon as they could find something suitable. They made no promises of finding me something - but they did promise to call me when and if they did find something.
They get 100's of calls a week with people wanting front cuts, engines etc, so it's probably best to wait until you have the money ready as you will get a better idea what is about, and how much they are at that time. I had been "quoted" from other wreckers, everything from $3,000 for a bare engine with turbos, right up to $8,500 for a 98 VVti front cut with auto.
In the end, Rollin charged $3,800 after saying that they expect it to be about $3,800 to $4,500
I got a call on Wednesday Arvo, gave me the specs, and a price range, they sent me a .avi movie file of the engine being started and run, and I put a deposit down straight away. I drove up from Sydney to the Gold Coast on Friday night, sussed it out on Saturday with wastegate and I am now the proud owner - now I just have to wait for the truck to arrive with it on.
while we were there, we noticed a few 1JZ's about, bot compete front cuts, as well as Engines and Engine/G'box etc.

Hmm...very interesting.
Rolin seem quite good then. But yeh, wouldnt wanna disturb em by asking how much 1 is so I can set a target for myself.
Anyone have experience with Asian Auto Spares?
I rang them and they had a auto half cut for $2100 and two more coming this week for the same price.
Hopefully my tax return will provide me with the extra money I need if they are all going for $4000.

I wouldn't be caught dead buying from Asian unless I was stuck in a really tight spot.. and even then I'd try to do without.

Back from the dead guys.
Need some opinions.
Rolin Automotive are highly regarded on this forum and on performanceforums also. They seem fantasic - coz the pics and video. Only problem is that they only bring manual JZA70 cuts in and are fairly blunt (I know they are busy!). However, they seem to bring in good products and shrink wrap them before shipping!
Toyshop Auto Imports have fantasic customer service, bring auto cuts in, but they are slightly more expensive than Rolin.
Anyway, I'm deciding to get my half cut from either of these guys. I've e-mailed John at Rolin and requested an auto half cut (even though he brings in manuals) for July/early August. I don't know if thats a reasonable request or not...but I also asked for a cut that had interior parts.
I read about a dud 1JZ on performanceforums and I want to know if either of these places will replace a dud if I receive one. Their warranties seem wishy washy...Of course they'll tell me that there will be no problems - but in reality, who knows.
So please help me decide who I should hand my hard earned money to. I've been working the crappiest hours ever so I can do my conversion - def dont want to be screwed around again.
Thanks.
