Finally I put my Sprinter's coil-over together, it is shortened XT130 strut with Hilux 4 spot, the brake power is awesome!(with Starion M/C & Endless SSS pads)
Big thanks to EVO-STI and Todd.

Yes I did, It is a 30mm one with -3 degree build in.
I got my coil-over kit from ae86world.com, the pad I bought from Centrax, the shock is Koni Sport externally adjustable.

what shocks did you use exactly? are they for another particular car?

I'm interested in a compatible shock when I shorten my XT130 struts.

cheers

With the starion master cylinder, it's a bolt on to the stock booster and works a treat? I'm using mazda 4 potters on mine, and I need to get around to fixing the soggy pedal one day - although a new set of greenstuff pads firmed it up a fair bit.

Gidday

New front looks great.

Where did you source the springs? I also notice that you have used the alloy kit - how did you press it onto the strut?

mrshin: The Starion m/c is a bolt on job, and it works, only thing is you may need to adjust the booster push rod length, but in my case it is fine. When I bought it from wrecker it come with a little block at front(with 2 outlet), so I just bend the old front pipe and it fits well.

Phil: The shock is Koni 8641-1115sport, was for ST165 front, 100mm shorter than the OEM shock (about 60mm shorter at cartridge, 40mm at shaft). I shorten the strut 40mm and put 20mm spacer at the bottom.

Craig: The spring top and seat is alloy but the center insert is steel, so you can weld it(good for shortened strut) It is a tight fit but don't need to press in. The I'm using the King Prosport 400lbs/inch spring, $80/EA.

Hows the ride with 400lb/in springs ? I thought 280 - 300 would be sufficient.

400lbs sounds hard but it's that bad, as TEIN use 420lbs for their coil-over kit. The ride is nice, not harsh and I like it. I got King at rear ATM and will get some custom spring made up soon.
I got my spring from TRS (07-38082455), if you put your order at morning they will have them by afternoon. I think you can get those Prosport spring at any suspension place, if they sell King.

Oh WOW Smile

hiaaa: Any idea what the internal diameter is of the mc? I've got a KE55 and I've got the XT130 strut setup in the front (with XT130 brakes) and I want to fix my spongy brake feel too. I've gotten a 2nd hand AE86 mc (original 3/4', AE86 is 13/16'), but if the Starion one is bigger and a bolt on again I might consider that.

How is the strut shortened? Do you just cut the top of and retread it? I was also thinking of getting this done as I'm running lowered Kings springs at the moment but it sits my Corolla at standard ride height and already my springs are just barely captive. I'm thinking of running AE92 shocks that are I think 46mm shorter than standard (body). Alternatively was thinking of getting coilovers...

This is really interesting... And you're in Brisbane too!

The bore is 15/16. I got one from a wreckers for $30. I got ia seal kit put through it and the guy said it has just been resleeved. Good pick on my behalf.
He said the rear about 2 cm into the bore.

The Starion mc I got is 7/8, but some has 15/16 bore. I cut the strut and take 40mm length out then Tig weld them back together.

Hi hiaaa,

Would you consider putting all this info together and turning it into a tech article, with pics if possible? I'll post it up on the Toymods site then.

Does anyone know the part number for the Starion master cylinder? It's pretty hard to find Starions at the wreckers, am thinking of buying new. How much difference does 1/16" make?

Has anyone tried to use the mc out of the Cordia? It is also 7/8, and appears to also have 80mm spacing between bolts. Only drawback I can see is the reservoir appears to be further forward (may foul against strut tower?) and hose exits on engine side, not sure how sharp an angle you can bend the tubes at.

a new Starion master cylinder cost about $220.
My 400lbs/in spring part no. is KPS-139. Here's the catalogue:
