Air Flow Meter Tue, 01 April 2003 15:27 Go to next message
Ok, here's the jist,

The other day i cleaned my air filter from my GZE and put it back in. After driving it around, the car seems to choke at idle, and sometimes it will stall. This happens about 80% of the time.

I took it to 2 different mechanics and after hours of adjusting the idle screws and tuning, the problem is still there. They say the air flow meter must be on the way out.

But in my opinion, all i did was unscrew the brace that holds the filter in and take off one bracket to get it out. I don't understand how this could damage the air flow meter. The engine was running perfect before i took it out to be cleaned.

Any ideas of how these meters work and what damages them? Do i have to get a replacement one off a GZE or can it be a GE?
