Go for it. You will see a big difference. If you do it yourself make up a new harness that plugs into you old h/light plug (for relay switching) and then just a bat+ and earth from the battery to power your lights (through the relays of course).

get good bulbs while your at it, i bought "super white" type h4 globes for my sprinter, and the light looks a lot better.
i take it you son't want driving lights? get the rally front bar and fit those massive rally spec lights, that would be awesome!

I replaced mine with some cheap H4 lenses from AutoOne. They were only about $18 each (compared to about $80 each for Hellas). Put 100/90 globes in & they're fantastic. Probably not as bright as the Hella H4s, but way better than the old sealed beams, plus my 100W Hella spotties make up for any shortfall anyway...

Why does a GT4 have sealed beams? Even on my RA65 you can swap out the h4 bulbs (although in the states they are all sealed).
Is yours an import, or am I missing somehting here.
BTW is the aftermarket lense better than the stock (cibie??) one? People in the states rave about the hella h4 lense replacements over the stock sealed beams.

heya,
i replaced the sealed beams on my old corolla (69) with H4's using some random 80/120 bulbs. they are a pretty bright so i have them pointed down a bit more than usual. they definitely light up the road a lot better!!!
there's no comparison goign the H4's. you can chuck in different globes, chaeper and easier to change if the blow (maybe not for the pop-ups . no need to stick to the legal size of 55/60W
you will find that the more expensive lenses will focus the light better, and have a better spread than the cheaper ones. but if don't want to lay out the cash for the better ones, the cheaper ones will still be better than the sealed beams.

the lights im looking at are a Tad more powerful tham those mentioned - one thing i dont spare expense on is lights - its going to get 90/135 's put in with new relays that i can eventually hook up a set of spotties thru - though im yet to figure out how i want them to look - ie on/in the bumper - or rallypod between the pop up style
ill start with turfing the ones i ahve first and upgrading to a decent set of lenses + bulbs then go from there ..
my ta22 had something similar on its outer lights combined with 2 150 watt rally spotlights in the centre - it lit up the road for miles and i swear it burnt the bugs before they hit the glass
hard to take a step back from that

My GT4 had one H4 light (Koiito original) & one sealed beam (previous owner must have broken the original & bought a sealed beam cos it was cheaper).
I'm not sure about the standard GT4, but on mine (Group A) there is blanked off wiring for fog lights to the corner apertures of the bumper (below the indicators). I'm not sure what fog lights fit in there (maybe the ones off the ST182?), but the holes are only big enough for small 55W lights anyway. They go back to a fuse in the passenger footwell fuse box. Not sure if there's a wire for a switch anywhere.
