Hey guys, I had the exhaust done yesterday, its awesome, but the guy that did it said that he thought my torque converter might be loose (noises)...
What could cause this, how can I fix it, could it be because of a strange fluid I'm using...
If no one can answer these q's, I'll just ask please tell me what fluid you are using? Thats the first thing I'm going to change...

If you are (as I suspect) using the A340E transmission, you should be using Toyota Type 4 ATF.
I'm using it in mine (1UZ/A340E combo), and I also used it in our 1UZ-powered Soarer...PM me with your 'phone number if you like and I'll get the part number for you tonight. (I have a part-full tin of the stuff sitting at home).

They Re made the whole exhaust, so it's not the cat...I can't figure what else it would be I'm stumped...The torque converter and drive plate can be seen when you remove a small bit of rubber, they look ok, minus a bit of rustish looking stuff...Then again it's not meant to be lubed that part anyway.

IIRC bubbles usually means trans is overfilled.
If torque is loose, u will want it to be tightened. Allan Langford told me his made noises then went bang, destroyed itself and the driveplate etc.

Ok what part needs to be tightened? Is it the driveplate part, that can be accessed without removing the tranny, (hopefully) If its something else, please someone help me with this.
Will the transmission need to be removed? Has anyone got any experience with this?

Hey Freebles, you have an inspection cover at the bottom of gearbox bell housing, remove plastic/ rubber bung, use a socket on the crankshaft at front of the engine, rotate engine then tighten up the first bolt turn and do the next 1 from memory 6 to 8 bolts these hold the torque converter to the flex plate.
While you are doing all this examine the flex plate for signs of cracking( they do Sometimes) check the welds at the flexplate to ring gear joints.
If you still have problems give me a call( 62961305)
