help with ECU relations to engine.

i have here a 3SGE from a 94 Celica. i brought the ECU a year ago on Ebay and it was stated "supposedly" to be for a 95 MR2 3SGE. i recently got the wire harness for a 95 MR2 and was going to do the swap on my US 91 MR2. when i recieved the harness, i noticed that the ECU plugs does not fit the ECU. the harness has 4 ECU plus which i assume is the correct one, but my ECU is 3 plugs (26p,16p,22p).
now obviously i have gotten the wrong ECU. i tried to find information on the ECU using a downloaded EPC, but i have found nothing on it. there is no match for the ECU to any car. i hope someone can help me find the correct car this ECU goes to so i can see if i should rewire it or sell it.
on the ECU, the Toyota label has a part number 89661-20712. under that has the serial number 175700-2832 12V. its a 3 plug ECU with the plugs 26P, 16P and 22P. it also says 3S-G and A140E.
please help me with all the information available. also, i will be looking to purchase a 4 plug 3SGE ECU part number 89661-17500, so if anyone has one laying around, please help. thanks.

the harness matches up completely with the engine. matches from every sensor to length of wiring to the sensor.
i recieved the harness from UK, which should be the same with Japanese ones.
im not sure what country or what car the ECU came from, but most likely not the US because the US doesnt get n/a 3SGEs. it is not a 3SGTE ECU because i have tried to plug it up to a 3SGTE and it runs, but car doesnt move other than idle, and doesnt boost.

That "3S-G and A140E" sounds like it's for a 3S-GE with an auto gearbox.

I have a 3SGE ecu from an MR2 but it is still in Japan. I'll get pin configuration checked.

Don't newer Toyotas have computer controlled transmissions, so is the extra plug for controlling the automatic gearbox?

auto gearbox? i talked to someone recently that made me believe its possible that its from a Lexus brand thats why it didnt show up on my EPC.
i dont think auto has the extra plug, rather it has a seperate ECU for the trans.
whats this Oz spec you are talking about? is your's a 94-96 MR2 ECU? how many pins is it?
thanks
