Back-fire 2TG...

Just curious to compare appples with apples.
I have a stock 2TG running the original 40mm solex cabies and a set of extractors and my car farts, spits, crackles and pops all day long. It's not that i don't like it, but it's only a stocker with no cam or head work. Just curious to see what other drivers experience with their 2TG's.
How does your 2TG sound?

Yep, that's just how it is with sidedraughts and relatively long-duration cams. BTW that's not backfiring, it's just unburnt fuel combusting in the exhaust system; a backfire happens on the inlet side.

That's what i meant!
So your're saying a stock 2TG (ie. with stock cams) wouldn't be making such a fuss? (From your experience...)

2T-G's have fairly long duration cams from the factory, so yes you would expect a bit of snap crackle and pop with a stock engine... especially if it has a free-flowing exhaust fitted. I know that mine did an awful lot of that back in the day, and in fact it was rather good at spitting flames also!

No. There is not much of a difference between twin Webers and the twin Solex's which were fitted from the factory.
