what to do with a v8 lexus

My dad is thinking of doing a kit lambo Countach. He likes the old chev, but i want to convince him otherwise. I have heard some good things about the v8 lexus motor. So if you could please tell me everything i guess, even though i know some stuff, you should probably start from scratch so he can understand. to go turbo or not? if so what are the advantages of each option. (he would probably like it NA if it works out producing good power). He is very interested in the stroker kit, i know very little about it but heard of one out there that takes it to 5L info on this would be GREAT!!. So i'm really interested in what mods you can do, and how much power you would get from various mods. Any input would be much appreciated. tnx.

I suggest you check out the performance gear listed for the Lexus V8 at Carbontech's website. HERE
Bullet used to have a 400hp version for their cars, so its definetly a case of power being there if you wanna go find it.

Carbontech is great, Nick really knows his stuff and did a lot of homework. Like casting his own moulds for the mags instead of buying a mould (most are crap), and doing everything properly.
I've been in one of those lambos (the white one) and they are pretty shit hot. Doesn't need anything like a turbo as they only weigh around 800kgs.
If your dad wants some bullshit performance then look into twin turboing one, but its not necessary.

The only down fall in all the FE type engines are those dam sissor gears for the twin cam's. Apart from that, the V8 has everything going for it!

Thats cool then my mistake I took it the wrong way
Andy has spent in excess of 40k nz on the engine or at least the owner has.
It is very high tech with the computer doing all sorts of things like dropping cylinders to counteract wheelspin at high speeds etc
The car on the site cost somewhere in the region of 300k to build no one will ever know for sure the real cost
They are building them to sell only as finished cars and they have orders and deposits for 4 so far and have just taken the car to the USA where it went down very well
They are actually better built and very much faster than the real thing

Sorry champ. Can't believe you on this one. A backyard bob against a full factory (with full R&D departments etc.).
Sure certain aspects will be nicer on paper, but the amount of research won't be the same.
Also the Diablos are a few years old now, last one made in '86?? (no idea, just shooting numbers). Granted they can put more high-tech gear into it. But not the same research & development.

I've got no doubt the car is probably built to a higher quality than the original F40 or Diable, up till the later 90's, quality wasn't their biggest strong point.
And the last of the Diablo's was made up till a year or two ago.

your belief isn't important to me
I am talking about the f40 go and look every part on the car is cnc milled and either carbon kevlar or alloy
It is built as a race car
You are talking from opinion I am talking from experience I have seen it touched it and know it well debating it is far from my interests
His sales speak for themselves he is far from a backyard constructor they have a cnc mill that cost nearly 400 k and that is only one piece of equipment it is a full on manufacturing operation

Negative!! ALL FE's have a pre-loaded scissor to turn the inlet or exhaust cam. They have nothing to do with the VVt-i system. This makes them a real bastard to get the right cam timing, but apparently there is a conversion which gets rid of these gears in the UZ's, but I don't know how it's done.....
