Toyota Newcomer - Rice convert

Hi Everyone,
Thought I would drop a quick hi on here as a newbie
I just recently sold my Mitsu. Mirage, though on realising that Rice is fine and all, but lacking anything in the way of serious horsepower or performance, am in the market for a Mkiv Supra TT - thus my joining this forum
A picture of my girl, now gone.. to be replaced with something with just a *little* more grunt
Hope to meet some of you in future!

Thanks Mia! Yes, tis I
You've nailed it - greatly looking forward to spending some time in a more mature environment, that's for sure
It appears these forums are very Nationally based? ie: rather than being exclusively a Victoria based site?

Yep, Australia wide which is rather refreshing. We have a section dedicated to Victoria only though so make sure you regularly take a peek in there as well.
Cool1: Well I am mature, sorry, I shouldnt have made the assumption

Well, initially it *was* going to be an evo 6/7 to "keep it in the family", but they're just too goddarn expensive!! A Supra is the only car I can see myself in at the moment - thus a) the Ralliart Jacket will now gather dust, and b) I'll need to source a TRD Jacket from somewhere

Sorry, wrong descriptive word
It's an embroidered pit-style shirt.. rather snazz! I'd like to find a TRD equivalent eventually; does anyone have Melbourne contacts where TRD products can be purchased?

Actually, the car club is NSW based, although there are no such physical constraints on the forums, that's why was have more of a national (and even international) presence on these forums.
You have 1.5 weeks to buy the JZA80 so that you can drive it up here to Dubbo for the Toyota Nationals!
Oh yeah, and welcome! Hope we can provide help when you decide to mod the Supra.

Thanks for the welcome peoples! Mucho appreciated. And yes, the veal is rather tasty
Strober, yes you guessed the rims! It took me a while to find the right sort of rim I was after - end of the day they were the only choice!
And yes... people will say public transport has it's ups and downs, but for someone like us who's life is behind the wheel of a car - PT is the equivalent of having your mum drive you everywhere; you go by her schedule and she'll only take you so far

True, I hate PT. I prefer to drive whenever I can.
I think I read somewhere that a company called Autojoy supply TRD merchandise so you may find a TRD jacket??

If for whatever reason I couldnt drive my car, I wouldnt go anywhere.
When I did my engine conversion, I called in sick to work for the week, and when I needed parts for the engine (oil, sparkies, filters etc) I called Repco and made them deliver

Well I wasnt so impressed I had given strict orders for my boyfriend to have the car back on the road in 2 days, i never expected it to take 6 days, but it was all worth it in the end, although I am sure he doesnt agree

i have those rims on my car too, thats how i spotted them so easily. shure they look nice but i dont think they're much of a performance rim, they're not the lightest wheels out there, but i think they look really shmick!
ok difibulator charged "clear!"
they retail for around about $1440 with ok tyres (16x7")
pretty average price right?

Applying that difibulator to my brain trying to remember the price I paid..... I think I got a nice price from Donnellans (Victoria) - $1780 for the set of 17" Holotypes, and Bridgestone Donuts. That was certainly a special, though if you're in good with your local wheel / tyre mob you should be able to get a similar price
Public Transport update - I believe I have found the record for the smelliest individual on the Tram this morning. He had that combination of too many ciggarrettes on unwashed clothing and that rank underarm BO smell. I'm calling Guiness even as I type.

i think i win that one..
guy on the train made me, and a mate gag..
i think the guy was a bit slow in getting to the toilet??
he had a great combo of BO that you could smeel as soon as you stepped into the carriage, and a smell like someone with severe gas, topped off with all the flies in the southern hemisphere being somewhere around him.. and he had a beanie.. with a hole in it.
there was no one sitting down his end of the train, the other end was packed though.. LOL
we walked down past them all.. got a smell of him, gagged, and walked back up the train.. had to get off the next stop before we were sick.. the 30 min wait was worth it.:S
Sorry.. people like that are fun to talk about.
Peace
Katsu
