Charity Motor Show Sun 15th June '03 Tue, 08 April 2003 09:26 Go to next message
The NSW Wild 1s Motorclub is hosting a Charity Motor Show on 18th May 2003 at Ridge Park Hall and surrounding grounds on Woodland Ave, Oxley Park (near Mt. Druitt)
This event is NOT a Toymods event, but we will be there to support this charity event.

For the last 2 years they have given over 90% of the days takings to Penrith Hospital- Childrens section and Penrith Rescue Squad.
This is an outdoor event with a rain date of Sunday June 15th 2003.

The organisers were impressed with our club display and style at Small Car Sunday and are keen to have us there on the day.

***Cost: *Entry on the day is $25 p/c
*Spectators $5 pp (children under 12yrs FREE
We have to be there at 7am with setup by 9am. This is a static show again.

Trophies: 60 on the day including 6 for encouragement.

*Traders can setup displays for $50 per stand

I will be taking the club display again, any suggestions on changes/ mods to it pls let me know.

Anyone keen on entering let me know at next meeting.

Dude Sounds like a good day. I will be there. It would be great to have more cars there, then we did at Small Car Sunday.
Very Happy GO TOYMODS GO Very Happy
As for the display we will need some long tent poles or something like that for the club banner. The small plants worked well. If we can get an engine to display that would be great. Of course an engine stand would be needed. I will leave the type of engine up to who ever. And some more Toyota signs would be good.

Anyway just a couple of ideas to start the ball rolling.

Guys,

This is a worthwhile cause......please support the event by entering your car. The key would be to have a good club presence.

This would be a great opportunity to get the Club in the public spotlight and show that we are willing to do things to help others.

I will enter my car if you would like Dave, might need some help getting it ready, considering I do not have a Man around the house (Not sure I did in the first place....hehehehe).

Anyway Just let me know if there is anything I can do to help out etc.....

Sounds like a great event... I'll be more than happy to support by entering the beast... it's a bit rough round the edges though, so it'll just be for the support/club presence!!

Dave, let me know if you would need a hand with any display stuff... 'sort of down my Ally Very Happy Not sure what you had at 'Small Car Sunday', so throw up some ideas and I'll let you know what I can do

Charity show might be postponed to the rain date if the weather continues as is. This is an outdoor event.

I wont have mine there as its bent, and now I have to go to work for most of the day. I will be there if it is on for club support for a short time though.

I may setup the club banners, fencing and table display if we have keen entrants and the weather is good. If anyone wants to bring there own display, by all means do so.

The Toymods Trailer is now registered and I am using the Slut Mk2 light-tow car, so if we have a few that are keen (JoelF + DavGT4 + Joe) then I will be more than happy to bring anything extra.
I WILL have the forms this time on the day. We are just going to meet at the venue around 7am Sun 18th.

I will post up details on Saturday as for the confirmation of this event taking place.

Anyone interested in entering pls call 0403 161 943.

CAR SHOW POSTPONED!!!
Wild 1s Car show will be postponed to Sunday 15th June 2003, I hope ther will be a strong Toymods presence as it promises to be a great day.
Hopefully my car will be un-bent by then. Wish I kept the detroit- chances are the car wouldnt have ended up where it did. And even so getting it out of the ditch woul've been easier with two wheels powering.

Hey Dave, I'm keen, but I'm working at 3pm that day. Do you know when it finishes or anything like that?
I'd either have to take my car early or arrange for someone else to look after it......

Joel, Im sure you can leave early, a few did it at SCS and it was OK.

DavGT4 is going to help us out with some graphic artworks/banners/short stories etc. Thanks Dav!

Has anyone got like a big folding-pinboard/posterboard thing we can use or buy cheap. This would be great for pics of dyno days/druises/events etc to display on.

If anyone has any specific ideas for signage, etc post 'em up and I'll see what I can come up with - imagination is the limit (almost Very Happy ).
I was thinking of doing a template for 'car card' incorporating details 'bout your car (engine, mods, etc..) How many would be interested in something like this - if so, PM or email you details to me....

Great to see a few interested parties... I was thinking that I'll make these 'car cards' customised to the event making them a one off production. Hopefully this might encourage a few more people to come along to the event (only if this is cool with the board!)

Hopefully manage to post up a sample next week of what they'll look like Very Happy

hey boys and girls... sorry been a little dormant lately! Still up for this one though.
About the 'specs' card... appologies for not having any designs done yet (just been flat out). If anyone wants to get me details of their cars I will have something for the day... but I'll also bring along a bunch of blanks to fill out by hand.

Dave... i'm also trying to have a club poster/board designed too!

swankiedude... 'nice car' Very Happy
