or what?
Can i just use the original pipes and just bend/join pieces to it to connect to the thermostat?
what have ppl done here? If anyone has pictures they could show me, would be great, thanks for ya help

I've got the RWD water pump & pipe assembly on my FWD motor. makes it all very easy, otherwise you'll need to use the FWD remote thermostat.

Where did you get the RWD pump and cooling system from?
I am looking at the cooling system for my 4agte and it seems a bit of stuffing around to use the FWD poump and stat.

twincam20:
the RWD water pump has the thermostat as part of the pump housing. You cant just buy the RWD pump & bolt it to the FWD motor, you need the complete pump & housing assembly.
Fortunately, another kind toymods member had purchased a complete RWD bluetop 4AGE, but only used the gearbox & engine mounts, so I bought the head, water pump & cooling system from that motor & fitted it to my FWD 4AG.
The remote setup works just as well, its just more of a fu(kup to setup initially, with more hoses needed, and you have to mount the thermostat somewhere, as it normally bolts to the FWD gearbox housing.
GZE-Style:
My alternator is on a custom mount. I had to mount it further forward to run off the front crank pulley row, as it fouled on the engine mount in my TE72.
I'll look for some pictures.
Cheers
Phil

thanks for ya help everyone
think i'll do it like the dude on that tech articles "fwd too rwd"
seeing as i have a fwd remote thermostat and all and yeh, sounds/looks easy enough.
So is that all 'remote thermostat' is, it triggers a thermo fan when something opens and gets hot or what?!

That "dude" is me the remote thermostat is as the name states..it holds the thermostat which once the water is warm opens and allows the water to circulate around the engine but it does also have the sensor to trigger the thermo fan.

By using the rwd setup on the fwd motor, do you disregaurd the thermofan and use a "clucth fan" or what ever its called instead?

You can use the clutch fan setup on the rwd but personally Id use a thermo fan, if you go clutch then make sure you use the RWD water pump as the FWD one wont handle the extra stress on the bearing
