I need the engine mounts from he NA 1G engines so I can put a 1GGTE in my RA28. What did thee engines come in and where is the best place to find them. Are they only at import wreckers or were the cars sold in Australia?
Or even better yet, Anyone got a set of these mounts??
Tim.

Probably the best best would be early GZ10 or GZ20 Soarers, failing that you could try and find a GA61 Mk2 Supra (Celica XX). You guys over east don't have much luck with those though.

G' DAY. When i did mine, i had a spare NA 1GGE sitting round so it was easy, but my mate did the conversion too and he just got the mounts off me, and took it to an engineering joint and they whipped up some for him, moddeled on mine, only cost him $60 each, so it wasnt too bad, and there are factory looking!
Also a tip... when u get your metal mounts, you dont have to use spacers or anything tricky like that to hold the motor. Just go in2 Repco, and buy their version of the rubber mounts made for the 18R. They look nothing like the toyota ones, they are nolethane too But they do happen to hold the 1G-GTE perfectly. It sits lower and further back compared to using the standard Toyo ones with 10mm spacers. (plus they are new!)

You wouldn't happen to have any pictures or diagrams/measurements would you. I am going to have to get some made up so that would be helpful.

Nope sorry mate, there were'nt any measurements taken by us in our conversions. And the mounts are now buried in all the mess under the engine, sorry!
The Engineering mob down here in ACT called Baxters did the mounts, and the just took my original soarer mounts and moddeled off them, one place quoted us obout $200 per mount, so look around coz we got them done for $60 per mount in the end.

Mate, you can get the steel fabricated mounts off the 1g-ge from the wreckers. I was quoted something like $80 for the both of them.

No Strad it was actually $90 dollars that I got quoted for the steel fabricated 1g engine mounts. But here is another point is that when i bought my 1g, i told the wrecker that i wanted these mounts with it, maybe try the place you got the engine.

Hi Guy, The engine brackets off a 2T,or 3T are extremely close to what you want. Add a bit of metal fill a hole or two and redrill, and use the new nolathane mounts. Just make sure the angle is correct as from memory one side of the 2T/3T has a flatter angle.
