XT130 strut info Wed, 09 April 2003 09:14 Go to next message
Is there just one variety of this strut or two? I have one here and it has the the caliper mounting bracket physically welded to the strut!
I have been told there is a strut that has a removable caliper bracket! Is this true or am I mistaken?

Thanks

So there is no version that has a bracket bolted to the strut for the caliper! Or am I thinking of another Corona strut? Or is it the RA40? Confused
Basicly I want a strut that has a bigger stub axle than the TA22 and also allows me to bolt a Caliper bracket to it! Oh, I also want the strut to fit into the TA22!

I got one that bolts, either ra60 or a ra28, can't remember which one as I have both. it unbolts, if it is the ra60 though, the camber wasn't right on my 28, you'd need control arm mods to make it right. No idea how it'd fit on a ta 22 though.

Tim.

What's wrong with using the AE86 strut?

Just asking as other than the misinformation about them being weak, I see no reason why it can't fit the bill.

Cheers

Who said anything about a ae86?

Does the RA40 have 4 or 5 stud?

I did!

Can't the 86s strut work in the TA22? That would solve your welded backing plate issue with the other strut would it not?

I have no idea! What size is the stub axle on the ae86 strut? This is what i'm trying to get around! The stub axle on the TA22 strut is way is to small!
