Cams for a 2L 2TGEU

A mate has asked that I post the following question for his almost completed 'fat-boy' engine:
"Interested in knowing what cam profiles people are using in the 2L version of the 2TG or 2TGEU and feedback on performance especially for street use?"
Can you either post your much appreciated advice here or email direct to Peter Lowther on: peter_l_lowther@hotmail.com
Cheers.

Hi Josh
Thats the one! Its going to be a great little motor.
Do you know of any good cam profiles for a warm 2L 2TGEU? What Cams do you run? Pete is really interested in feedback on how warm to run for street use. Anyone....???
Cheers

My 2tg is not injected yet but I have 304 intake and 288 exhaust with 44mm mikunis. I have removed the large venturis and changed the jets but the car runs very well around town and pulls hard esp after 3500rpm the exhaust is 4-1 header with 2.25in pipe and a turbo muffler. I plan to inject it in the near future as I am in the process of collecting parts and having machine work done to fit a 5mg throttle body and afm with a 22re ecu to the 2tg plenum. Hope this helps

Greg
Is the engine sluggish down low with the big 44s and the 304/288 cams? With EFI Pete hopes it should be about as good as it gets down low.
Are your cams regrinds or new? What brand are they. Sorry to pester.
Thanks

The car runs well around town. Understanding that it has a lightened flywheel and centerforce dual friction clutch this limits the hole shot capability severely. I don't have to slip the clutch to start and the car pulls nicely through the rpm range. This doesn't mean you can go to wide open throttle when the light changes but gradual application of the throttle at startup does not seem to cause the motor to bog down. Once the car is at 2300-2500 rpm full throttle applications have no negative effects on the car other than fuel consumption. I had to change all the jets to get the motor to run like this but it was not that difficult. The cams were purchased new the intake is a HKS 304 with 10.5mm lift and the exhaust is a TRD 288 with 9.8mm of lift. I will eventually put the EFI on the car and see what effect it has on the performance of the engine. Hope this Helps
