Hi all what is the best way to get more power out of a silver top 20v without having to charge the motor, will the difference in a 5&6 speed box make that much difference with the ratio's?
What have all you 20 valve people done?
just like a little more power to get those turbo fwd and leagel would be nice but nos may be needed.
what u all think?

20 VALVE 4WD what? u lucky thing! that will go mad turboed, but with fwd it will just spin, but i guess it all depends on how much boost. i was looking at runing about 8.5-1 compresion with a little sc or turbo, thats a big change from 10.5-1 i was led to beleive that drooln ran a turbo on his 20v with 10.5-1 compresion, later blowing only the turbo??????

belive me there is plenty of ways of minimizing the traction problem in any car, suspension, tyres, lsd gear box, these ar just somethings that u can some are minor things some are very costly.... and u can have boost controllers that boost low and the u hit a button and away u go... i have this setting done on ems... very good.

How far do you want to go with more power.
I've a silver top in an off-road race car pulling 88kW at the wheels. The only modifications are a Haltech E6A computer and about $400 worth of head work. (Plus the obligatory open exhaust after the factory extractors for racing.)
It reaches peak power at around 7000rpm so will still provide good reliability.

The best results I have had with a 20V,ported head, thin head gasket, cams, cam gears,EMS dual sport, custom made headers with 2.5" exhaust, close ratio gearbox, this engine made 102kw and other than the pipes he did everything himself. As you can see if you where to pay to get all this done it would cost you around $10,000-$12,000. I hate to say it but a TURBO setup is cheaper.
