After getting my exhaust I decided to take my car for a drive. Drove it slow for awhile and then gave it the boot every now and then. Then on a big run up to about 7grand it made this bearing/grinding noise. It doesnt do it at idle or anywhere else. Reved it in neutral slowly and it did it @ about 7 but only a tiny bit. Then dopped the revs to about 6.5 and slowy brought it up to 7 and it didnt do it again.
Now i took the oil cap off and it there was oil getting to the top of the motor (thank god). What could it be??
Im thinking of replacing the sump and gasket and see if the oil pick up is damaged. Cause theres a decent dent in it (came like it). Should i replace the oil pump and water pump??
Part numbers and costs???
Oil pump -
Water pump -
oil pick up -
Sump and gasket -
would they be the same as a ae92 4age 100kw? Since the motor is a ae92 gze?

Could be the belt slipping. I know when mine slips its a really loud screeching noise, and it always happens high up in the rev range.

Yep my brother and you were right ladysx. Had a look at the s/c belt and it was pretty lose. Tightened the crap out of it and took it for a run, no more noise
Hahaha, I guess I get a little worried sometimes

dont go overboard tightening the belts cause you could damage bearings.

I had a brand new belt on mine and it was a tight fit to begin with but was slipping from day one. Since then I hve had to tighten it 4 times - and its only been on there about 4 months, if that!!!
They slip very easily and need to be very tight. You will find though that they tend to slip in wet weather regardless. The rain/water does it, so just be aware of that and dont tighten in wet weather
Dont you just love the power/responsiveness you get back into it though when you tighten it? Its like a brand new toy
