ERRRGH just when i had the conversion FINISHED it goes and roots itself
My V8 fuel pump (external commodore) one fried... now I am wondering if this is cause my fuel lines are too thin What do other ppl do, i was using the standard 4ac tank with original lines (except i ran a thicker pipe after the pump but not on the 30cm before)?
Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated

Do u know if my tank can be modded easily for an internal pump???
Yer the spacer is big but its still within legal ground clearence and engineer seemed semi happy with it LOL but it needs to be that big if u want it to be at perfect height
But this pump is really pissing me off now, cause i want to drive it now

Your best bet would be to get a twincam fuel tank.
Im scared to drive mine cause it might blow up. Fuck it launches though.

heya,
how is the crummydore pump like for sucking the fuel? i hear rumours that many EFI pumps are not good at scavenging fuel from the tank, and then cavitate, run dry and blow up... if you surge tank it and get a lifter pump, there's no chance of running dry.
if you run the fuel rail return line to the surge tank, you only need a small pump to supply the surge tank (as it replaces the fuel the engine actually uses, which will be much less, on average, than your injector size)..
at worst, get a low pressure pump which is rated at say 10% more flow than the external pump is rated _at fuel rail pressure_ (it won't flow more than that unless your rail pressure goes down.. and that's all bad) and then just run it in series with the EFI pump. the low pressure pump will be better at scavenging theu the little lines to the tank, and you could T the rail return to between the two pumps to reduce the work done by the first pump (so it can be smaller/cheaper)
anyhoo, hope this gives ya some ideas...

ps, there is a VL turbo pump on ebay atm for about $60...

Sweet thanks for ur reply...
been a bad day hopefully i can fix this thing soon
The pump did run sweet, i thought it was really good until now, didnt seem to be dry doesnt seem to have air in the pipe so i have no idea why it died, maybe the smaller lines killed it
Thanks, ill have a look at enlarging the pipe (dont know how im gonna do it but im sure theres a way)... And ill look at getting a new pump asap
