Just a reminder that as well as the mandatory tailshaft loop don't forget to bring an approved Australian Standard motorcycle/motorsport helmet.
Also, I have just been advised that open exhausts are permitted!

Grant,
One quick question on the tail shaft loops, does it have to be a full 360 degree loop or just an under loop?

Look guys, Dubbo City Car Club says it needs to be 360 degrees and I really don't know how critical they will be at scrutineering. If you have an unmodified factory car (performance or otherwise) you could argue that the car is designed for the power so you didn't think it needed one. A bit of flat bar is certainly better than nothing but at the end of the day it's entirely your own decisison. I know it's a pain but they are the rules and I think everyone has known that for some time.
As i said before, if you really can't get time to fit a loop then bring some material and I'm sure there will be enough people to help fit something on saturday afternoon. I'm also going to make some calls today to see if there is an exhaust shop open saturday afternoon that people could get to fit loops.

A tailshaft loop is a safety device that bolts the the underneath of the car & prevents the tailshaft from dropping to the ground in the event of it snapping.
By welding together a thick steel loop with a bracket either side, it bolts to the floor pan neat the front of the tailshaft, & the tailshaft goes through the loop, without touching it. Unless the tailshaft actually breaks, in which case it is caught in the loop and does minimal damage, instead of diging into the ground & pole vaulting the car ass first into the air, if it just so happened at high speed.
