Catch cans are plumbed between the output of you Positive Crankcase Ventilation and your plenum(or carby intake). They simply remove oil vapours from the vented gas from your crankcase, stopping the oil from being burnt in the combustion chambers. These are particularly benificial in Hi-boost turbo engines and Hi-compression engines.
