	| wiring on 97 corolla | Wed, 16 April 2003 04:37 | | |
	| hi, im installing a stereo in a mates 97 corolla and there were 2 plugs coming out from the stock tape deck.
1 plug had 4 wires (RED, BLACK, YELLOW, WHITE)
2nd plug had 8 wires (assume for 4 speakers)

We chopped the plugs off and tryed to use a multimeter to find the power, backup, etc. and cant get a reading on anything...

is there any sort of security system on there... and what is the WHITE wire for anyway?

 thanks
 Mat

	| dunno about security, but red and black + and -,
yellow and white, one is permanent/memory power (yel?) and other could be for power aerial, but i thought they were usually blue...

you should at least have 12V on the yellow (or white) wire as it should not be switched by ign.

 good luck
