Silverfox,
Why a 18RG? Why not a 2TG. The 18RG will not bolt straight in.. Unless you can get a crossmember from a RA21 from the states, then your going to have to change your mounts. It will fit, but not as easy as a 2TG which will bolt straight in, no problems.
You will have to use a W50 or so, as a T50 won't bolt up to the motor.

i was going to put the import 18rgeu efi motor in my ta22, but the amount of work really wasnt worth it, so now im putting a 2tgeu efi 1600 into the car and stroking it out to 1800 and running it with 3sge injectors off a 3sge.

to put one in - youd obviously need ot swap over to now engine mounts - and hope it all fits
Downside of this conversion so ive heard is the extra weight of the 18rg upsets the balance of the front end of the ta22 - makes it more nose heavy
As others have said - 2tg is your best bet if you want twin cams and an easy conversion - as it is just " bolt in "
power wise the 18rg - in high compression carb form puts out about 145 fwhp , a 2tg - 125fwhp - so your not loosing out much on power on stock motor outputs ..
Decent cams - and tuning will see a 2tg up there with the RG's PLUS you can stroke them out to 1.8 litres with a 3t crank swap !
and out to 2 litres i believe with a overbore ( 86mm ?) and suitable pistons ..

i have seen an 18R-GU put into a TA22.. there is a SERIOUSLY a lot of work involved if you want it to sit properly and not dodgy. THe crossmember needs some serious modifications and some custom engine mounts fabricated. For all that hassle you could buy a good 2T-G, install it and sell the 18R-GU and be out of pocket by only a small amount! And don't forget how easy it is to stroke the 2T out to a 1800cc using the 3T crankshaft!!
As well as that - why ruin the precise handling of the TA22?
