Has anyone ever Dynoed there 18RG here?
I'm looking for someone who has a mod 18RG that has been
dynoed.
I have a RG that has a few mods on it.
cams 304/288, high compression forged pistons,
small ported head and intake,2.5 exh.
now here is some of the bad things with my car.
Stock 40mm carbs, Stock 18RC mech. fuel pump,
Stock elec. ignition
Wondering what kind of power are you guy
getting out a moded 18RG and what RPM rang.
I know a stock 18RG peek power is 5800rpm
and the power depends on whet 18RG you have.
Here is a page that someone dynoed a stock 18RG
http://home.earthlink.net/~celica73/oldcelica/dyno .html
I can't do to much more to this car(just 45mm webers).
Because I have another project going at the same time and
the other project is take up more of my time and money.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks

1st piss the carbies off or get some 44 mikunis or 45 webbers the cam timing sounds wrong have you got adj cam pulleys that will help to get correct cam timing .back to webbers try 37 mm venturies and about 150 air and 135 mains and go from there ,also check the disy and make sure the mechanical advance is not stuck as well if the cam and comp is right should make power to 7000 and up if done properly

Wait that not my page.
here is some pics of my projects.
http://photos.yahoo.com/toyceli72
I do have adjustable cam gears and the Dist works fine.
My car with the small carbs and the stock ignition will run 15.3s@ 89mph
so the engine is making good power even with the small carbs
and stock ignition.
when I do go with the 45mm webers that has more air flow
and more fuel the car should break in to the 14's.
Well, I guess I should do 1 dyno run just to fine out
what my car can do.
I was just looking to see if anyone has
done a dyno run with a 18RG.

if you are seriously interested in 45mm webers, i have a set on my 18R-GU that im considering replacing with a different setup.
If you want they can be purchased off me
Next step you might be able to take is some more head porting and some oversized valves.

HI
Thank you
But,
I already have a set of carbs. in fact I think I have three
sets.
That one thing I don't need right now is more parts.
This engine has had the head ported and the intake manifold
also.
this engine has small block ford valves that are alittle bigger.
But,
the over size valves won't help as much as porting the head and the runners of the intake.
on the RG engines the intake ports and runners are to small.
