Hey guys, has any body gotten bumpers straightened and re-chromed in the brisbane area? My bumpers have been painted maroon and look shit, i was wondering if any of you have had experience with a certain shop in doing this? and what costs am i looking at? I was quoted $265 per bar from a chroming dude, and i think harrisons at loganhome are $300 per bar. Does anybody know how much of a difference 'show chrome' is to normal chrome?? any help would be appreciated

Oh ok....... dude don't get me so excited......... think before you post a thread with the title "CHROMING".... was going to get the cans of silver and chrome spray paint ready.... Rolling Eyes Razz

hehe only joking!!

ummmm good question, well show chrome I assume would be heaps shinny but is it more resilient for an everyday car that is out in the environment???

PS are your bumpers in good nick??? I.E perfect except for the chrome?? If not look for some that are better before spending a SHEEEEZY load of money on re-chroming!

Keep us posted on how you go!!

haha, drugs are bad hmmkay (sorry, thats so overused)

yeh my bumpers are pretty ok, ther not great though. About finding good bumpers, you try to find a GOOD set of ta22 bumpers, it's near impossible. One place offers a warranty with their chrome so i think i'll go with them. Yeh i'll keep u posted mate

ok, for anybody who is interested i found the difference between show and normal chrome

With normal chrome you can still see grinding marks where they clean up your old metal etc

show chrome you can't. Thats a really shit explanation, but the guy from chrome connection showed me and show chrome IS THE WAY TO GO. It looks tons better.

thanks for your time

I havn't gotten my stuff done ther yet, but i will now i've seen it. Chrome connection isn't actually the chroming place, he takes your chrome, sources the best place to get it done, then gives it back to you. It's very professional, he takes digital photo's of all your stuff to make sure ther are no mix ups, the guys name is Rob, his numbers at work, but i'll get it and post it up tm.
