Hey all

Id just like to kindly know how one would manage to get the "guides" back inbetween the Cylinder Assembly and cylinder mounting on the front brake setup on a TA22 WITHOUT the use of a very strong clamp and a hammer

Do you mean you need to release pressure of the piston to get the clips back on? if so release the bleed screw for the calipers and the piston will go down and tighten in back up again and clip it back togher. but remember to re bleed the system u really have to anyway.

hope this helps

Daniel.

I find with most discs that I replace on cars that when a clamp doesnt do much good, take the caliper in both hands and press both thumbs into the pot and strong arm it back into the caliper. Good thing about this is that you can vary the amount of pressure you place across different area's of the pot which (if it's a little sticky in places) makes a big difference, clamps only apply pressure in the one place which doesnt work real well when it's not going back in evenly.

OK
weirdest thing

can someone xplain to me what happened here

after i did my pads....the brake pedal almost touched the floor on full depression
i was like hmmm...ill adjust it tomrorow

but just driving yesterday i felt this harsh click in the brake pedal while i was depressing it....and on full depression its back where it was b4

a)wtf could have happened
b)is it ok to keep driving as this isnt normal behaviour for brakes
c)i put everything back as it should have been done

lol i just saw 'guides', thought pads, and started crapping on sorry. do u mean your brake went to the floor each time u pressed it? did you bleed your brakes after you replaced your pads to get any air out of the lines and replace the fluid? if it only happened once the first time u used the brakes thats ok the master cylinder is just building up to normal operating pressure

Daniel.

no i didnt bleed my brakes
there shouldnt be any air in the system

no im not talking about JUST after u do pads, how u have to pump the pedal a few times to get it back to normal

like i drove around for nearly 2 days and the pedal would almost touch the floor
but yesterday i depressed it and i felt a harsh click....and ever since that....the position of where the pedal is on full depression is back to how it should be

any ideas ??

safe to drive ?

Thanx
Mani
